Munni and Sheila have emerged as the hot favourit on the chartbuster front and a certain Mallika Sherawat too is longing to dig into a big slice of the 'item number' pie. Her track Razia in Anees Bazmee's Thank You has already captivated viewer attention.
Mallika, though, is all set to sizzle away as Shalu in a song track for Bin Bulaye Baraati.
Incidentally, the song number that's going to be canned onApril 4, 2011 , has revved up adrenaline, majorly for Mallika. And with good reason too. Reportedly, Mallika will be lavished with the princely sum of Rs. 3 crore for her two 'item numbers' in the movie!
The Shalu number also boasts of a unique factor, in that the song track is said to have both names Sheila and Munni in the number.
Expressing his enthusiasm, director Chandrakant Singh states in a tabloid chat, "The song number Shalu is a very energetic and glamorous one. Munni and Sheila are both very famous and so we thought, why not have a song that merges both the words to make our song more interesting!"
Mallika, as per insiders, will be seen in a nautanki get up and will also feature Aftab Shivdasani, Nisha Kothari and Om Puri. "In Bin Bulaye… the actors are on the run from the police and enter a nautanki area, that's where the Shalu song takes place."
Tunesmith Anand Raj Anand, who's served up the track states in a media quote, "It's the season of 'item numbers' that have a lot of drama and I'm very happy with the end result of Shalu."
Incidentally, Anand has already earned the rapt attention of Mally over another feat.
Sherawat is all gung ho over Jalebi bai, the 'item number' that Mallika will groove to in Indra Kumar's forthcoming film Double Dhamaal. States an elated Anand, "I've been told that Mallika immediately agreed to do the 'item number,' once she'd heard the number."
