Payal Rohatgi, a small time actress of undistinguished films, has accused Dibakar Banerjee, of “Khosla Ka Ghosla”, of asking for sexual favors in exchange for a role in his upcoming film Shanghai
Rohatgi claims to have known Dibakar for a year and that they were close friends. She tells he was seeing a counselor for his failure to stay monogamous even though marriage. He even suggested the therapist to her. She had gone to Banerjee’s casting director for an audition. After the audition, Banerjee had gone to her place and had apparently told her that she had put on some weight and demanded her to lift her top to show it. At that point, she refused and asked him to leave.
Dibakar has a different story to tell. He admits he was friends with Payal and recommending his shrink to her for the treatment of her depression. But, the comment about her putting on weight was made in the studio in front of a lot of people and not at her place. He did go to her house, but nothing happened there that can be termed as “sexual favors”. He denies asking her to lift her top.
Pointless to say, she has lost out on the role.
