It's one project that won't bag Salman Khan's fulsome vote. 'Project 18', that is. Since if happens to be Abhinav Kashyap's next project. And what's better (err, or should that be….worse?), it happens to showcase his arch rival: Shah Rukh Khan.
Although Abhinav Kashyap has gone on record denying that SRK had little to do with his ouster from the directorial seat of Dabangg 2, tittle-tattle talkers insist it's quite the different.
Squeals a highly placed insider, "Abhinav kept both Salman and Arbaaz in the dark about his meetings with Shah Rukh Khan for his next project, an action thriller, and said that he couldn't shoot on the allocated dates."
An insider reveals, "Abhinav moved out of Dabangg taking his entire team of assistant directors. One of them, Himanshu Mehra happens to be the co producer of 'Project 18,' which is the cautious title of his next movie. He's had at least three meetings with Shah Rukh and a corporate giant is also slated to fund his movie. The movie is officially on, though Shah Rukh has not signed up for it, as yet."
Arbaaz Khan, who's now gotten over the famed Kashyap SMS exit saga states in a media quote, "Abhinav said that he wanted to quit the movie because it was being done too soon. But I had to go ahead because I had Salman's dates with me. Whether he ditched the movie for someone else's film is a question that only he can answer."
Declaring Abhinav to be a "closed chapter," Arbaaz, who marks his directorial debut with the sequel, asserts that he's happy that the differences and squabbles emerged presently ”and not when the movie is being made."
