After ‘Luv Ka The End’, here comes ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’, a tale about three chronic bachelors whose lives go in to a tizzy when they fall in love. It doesn’t take long before they begin to miss the guy bonding and realize that girls are truly from Venus, which for them must be the most aloof, illogical planet in the solar system.
Writer – Director Luv Ranjan tells a modern day tale about the complexities of being in a relationship and succeeds to a great extent. It’s just that the men here play second fiddle and women come across as vamps. The screenplay has plenty light moments particularly in the first half which keeps you amused, while the second half takes a bit of a serious turn and that’s where the interest level goes down. Dialogues are young and refreshing and probably the best part of the enterprise.
Performances by all the six youngsters range from average to fine but the ones who really stand out are Divyendu Sharma and Nushrat Barucha.
Music by Hitesh Sonik and Clinton Cerejo is just about satisfactory and doesn’t boast of a single chartbuster song, so essential for this kind of a love story. Camerawork by Sudhir K Chaudhary is routine while editing by Akiv Ali could have been sharper.
There haven’t been so many spoof love stories produced in our country and in that sense, this one does have enough ‘punch’ to be the best anti rom-com movie made in recent times.

Overall, it is worthy to watch!
