The 2012 release will see Sunny return to his 'dhishoom dhishoom' roots, and when the promo of the movie premiered during the preview shows of Ready, this week, the reaction it received from audiences was truly roaring. In fact, the phenomenal applause, hooting and all, that the trailer opened to at Mumbai's suburban Gaiety theatre was loud enough to match the response the audience gave to Ready's most popular musical numbers, Dhinka Chika and Character Dheela!
While the original Ghayal was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the 'punchy' sequel will be helmed by Ashwini Chaudhary, though it will still star Sunny. With a historic box office gross already behind him in 2001's Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which became Bollywood's all time highest grosser in its day, one can assume, perhaps, that Sunny is getting set to rewrite the record books again with Ghayal Returns. And from the rapturous way it has received the film's promo, it seems the audience too can't wait to enjoy Deol in his angry action hero form again!
