They're "close pals". Or so assert, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza. I thinkit’s a lot more than being "good friends", in popular B'Town jargon. The pair alleged to be a "romantic item" has steadily denied their relation.
Allegedly, the two kicked off their dating during the filming of their 2003 debut Tujhe Meri Kasam. The relationship did go through its share of rough patches when Riteish was supposedly involved with a certain Jacqueline Fernandez. Word has it, though, that Riteish and Genelia have put such (sensual) bygones into their past and got "serious" about each other again, in July 2010.
As per sources, the duo has signed up for a "romantic comedy" produced by Kumar Taurani (Tips) to be directed by Mandeep Singh, who'd earlier done a Punjabi film under the same banner. By the way, this bridges a seven year itch of sorts, since the couple illumined screens together in Indra Kumar's Masti ( 2004) .
A close source reveals, "Riteish and Genelia have consciously stayed away from being cast together but this film got their attention and they agreed to it."
Confirming the development, Taurani said the scribe tribe that he was genuinely "surprised" and stated that the film would go on floors from July 25, 2011, once Ritiesh returned from his Housefull 2 shoot.
