Madhuri Dixit has a problem to be a sister of Rajnikant!

She may have reigned as Numero Uno at one time. Madhuri Dixit, however, doesn't seem to think that the demand for her kind of cine magic has lessened to any degree. The mediavine was electrified into hyper activity when Madhuri Dixit asked a huge amount Rs. five crore fee for a film! A league of remuneration demanded by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor.

Her previous solo outing 'Aaja Nachle' (2007) tanked without a trace. After chucking the offer to play cine mother to Sonam Kapoor in an Indianised version of 'Freaky Friday,' the actress turned down the opportunity to illumine the screen beside Rajinikanth, asserting that she did not wish to play his onscreen sister in 'Rana' helmed by director K.S.Ravikumar.

By the way, the South super icon was keen to pencil in Madhuri into his film, though she wasn't willing to act out anything less than his heroine, a slot by now filled by Deepika Padukone.

Madhuri also tweeted her sentiments stating, "Would have loved to do a film with Rajnikanth but the role was that of a sister... need to wait for the right role."

Confirming the development, Ravikumar says, "Madhuri wanted the heroine's role, but Deepika has already been signed up for it. She didn't come down personally, but her manager did. The other female roles are too small and will not do justice to her talent. We are very happy and content with Deepika. Besides, fitting the role perfectly she is also a star across the country."
