Rahman's life captures in book!

Now here is one book that will certainly disappear from bookshelves once it is released! A.R. Rahman fans had better mark April 6, 2011 in their diaries, as Nasreen Munni Kabir's authorized biography 'A.R. Rahman, The Spirit of Music' hits bookstores all across the country on this day.

The conversational biography will offer some captivating insights into the musical world of the fiercely private composer. Rahman's important voyage has been recorded over the past three years by renowned film historian and UK based documentary maker Nasreen Munni Kabir. The book includes some rare photographs from Rahman's individual archive, as well as a special music CD of the virtuoso's tracks.

The Padma Bhushan awardee who started off as a jingle composer, soon came to be known as the "Mozart of Madras" after he struck the right notes with movies such as Roja, Bombay, Rangeela and Dil Se. Rahman freshly made global waves with his soundtrack for Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire and went on to win many prestigious international awards such as the Golden Globes, BAFTA and the Academy Awards.

Mani Ratnam, celebrated filmmaker and Rahman's close collaborator, is expected to do the honours and launch the musical wizard's highly awaited biography. Get ready to grab your copy!
