Deepika competes with herself on Dusshera?

If all goes as planned, Dussehra 2013 will see the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial Ram Leela, headlining Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
It is heard that SRK is planning to block next year’s Dusshera for his ‘Chennai Express’. Buzz has it that the actor had to postpone the film’s release from Eid to Dusshera, so as to avoid clashes with his competitor Salman Khan’s untitled film. What’s interesting is that If ‘Chennai Express’ too releases on Dusshera, Deepika Padukone will have to compete wit herself as she is the leading lading in both the movies.
However, nothing is confirmed yet and an official statement is being awaited from both, Shahrukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The year 2013 looks promising as other festive big releases include Akshay Kumar’s gangster film Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai on Eid weekend on August 8, along with Salman’s newest with brother Sohail Khan, Hrithik Roshan- Priyanka Chopra- Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut ‘Krrish 3 on November 3, 2013 and Aamir-Anushka’s ‘P. K’ on Christmas, December 25, 2013.
In the meantime, ‘Ram Leela’ is presently under production. The film’s promotional plans are already being set up by Bhansali and promotions will being from August next year.

The actor is presently working on Dabangg 2, which will hit theaters this December. Soon after that, the superstar will begin shooting for Boney Kapoor’s ‘No Entry Mein Entry’ and Boney and Prabhu Deva’s Wanted 2.
“It’s too early to talk about the project. Salman is a very close friend. He stood by me in the most difficult times. Now, when by the grace of God I am doing well again, I’m doing two films with him,” tells Boney.
While ‘No Entry Mein Entry’ is the sequel to ‘No Entry’, a 2005 film, ‘Wanted 2 will have an original script.
A source reveals, “Boney, Prabhu and Salman are working on an original script for the film as Salman is tired of working in remakes. Both his home productions, Dabangg 2 and Sher Khan, are original films.”
Prabhu is fully ready for Wanted 2 with an original script.
“I am all for Wanted 2. It’s up to Boney and Salman when they want to do it,” told Prabhu.

Now Aishwarya Rai is ‘Bemisal’ for Karan Johar!

Aishwarya Rai and Karan Johar
If news is to be believed, Karan Johar is all set to remake Amitabh Bachchan’s Bemisal, a 1982 classic, with Aishwarya Rai. The original movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhee and Vinod Mehra in the lead roles. The movie is all about loyalty, sacrifice and revenge and is remembered for RD Burman’s music, and off course, its strong star cast.
A source discloses, “Karan has been thinking about casting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play Rakhee’s character from the original. In fact, he is in talks with Aishwarya. She has been away from films for a while (she last acted in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish, 2010), and we haven’t heard of a conformation yet from her end. But if all goes well, we will hopefully see her return to the big screen with this.”
Earlier too, Karan had remade Amitabh Bachchan’s 1990s Agneepath with Hrithik and the movie was a blockbuster.
It is heard that, Amitabh and Jaya’s 1973s ‘Abhimaan’ was to be remade with Aish and Abhi doing the leads. However, the movie never materialized.
If ‘Bemisal’ materializes, this will mark the return of Aishwarya Rai after 3 years, post motherhood.
In the meantime, if you’ve noticed, all of Amitabh Bachchan’s past film have been bagged by Priyanka Chopra, including Don, Agneepath and the currently under production Zanjeer (1973) remake.

As reported previously, Kareena has a packed schedule post wedding. The actress is back in Mumbai and Dabangg 2s item song will be her first work post all the marriage celebrations.
It is heard that, in order to stay fit and in shape, Bebo starved herself off her marriage treats.
While Mrs Khan is back to work already, we hear that Saif will resume work post Diwali. He will be filming for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Bullet Raja.
In the meantime, on Tuesday evening, Salman Khan was seen discussing the film’s action sequences with choreographer-turned-filmmaker Prabhu Dheva.
A source tells, “Prabhu and Salman were having fun catching up on films. Salman was discussing Dabangg 2s action sequences with Prabhu and wholeheartedly taking his inputs. They are both very enthusiastic about the action genre. Possibly that’s the reason they were so animated while talking about stunts. And perhaps this common interest made Wanted such as hit. The film’s action scenes were also lauded.”
The duo joined hands together for the first time way back in 2009, with their blockbuster film ‘Wanted’.
Dabangg 2 is set to release on December 21.

Vidya Balan is a sexy Punjabi housewife?

For ‘The Dirty Picture’ Vidya Balan gained a whopping 12 kgs and now, the actress has been asked by director Raj Kumar Gupta to retain her curves for his forthcoming film Ghanchakkar, in which Vidya Balan will play the role of a sexy Punjabi housewife.
It was a little difficult to convince Viday as she wanted to get rid of those extra pounds soon after the release of ‘The Dirty Picture’. The actress maintained the same voluptuous figure for ‘Kahaani’, too.
“It took some amount of persuasion. She plays a flamboyant Punjabi housewife in Ghanchakkar. So it only makes sense if she retains the weight (from TDP and Kahaani) in my film too,” Gupta told.
Ms Balan will be cast opposite Emraan Hashmi and will essay the role of a seductive and very curvy home maker. The actress, with her film Ghanchakkar, is all set to put an end to the wrong notion that “housewives are boring”.
Well, if you thought, housewives are ungroomed personalities, with unkempt hair and shabbily dressed, well, then Vidya is all set to surprise you.
“Ghanchakkar” is a sequel to the 2006-hit “Pyaar Ke Side Effects”, which starred Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat.

Now no tampering with Yash Chopra’s vision in his last film ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’!

Jab Tak Hain Jaan was supposed to mark the return of Yash Chopra into direction, after a break of eight long years. If only the legend was alive to watch his movie on the day it hit theaters. Now, the latest we hear is, a romantic number featuring Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, in the Swiz Alps has been dropped from the movie.
A source tells, “No one wants to touch a single frame of the movie. Jab Tak Hai Jaan has acquired a new significance now. Previously Aditya Chopra was overseeing the romantic portions of the film. And in all probability, he would’ve accompanied his father to Switzerland where the song was to be shot. But now with Yashji gone, adding anything in his absence will be inappropriate,”
“Without Yashji’s presence, adding anything to Jab Tak Hai Jaan would amount to tampering with his vision. Besides the film’s release is just less than a month away. So there is practically no time left,” the source further added.
The film is set to hit theaters on November 13.
So now, Katrina will not be seen in a white chiffon sari. Designer Manish Malhotra confirms the news, “We were to go to the Swiss Alps to shoot a song with Katrina (Kaif) in chiffon saris. He discussed the saris with passion and used to tell me that ‘I want you to be there at the shoot’,” tweeted Malhotra.-
The entire shoot for Jab Tak Hain Jaan was complete with just the romantic song, Yashji’s signature feature, remaining. Sadly, Yash Chopra had to be hospitalized following dengue infection, and so, the filming of the song had to be postponed. Now, its no more a part of the film.
The movie will now be a tribute to Chopra.
Says a source, “the three stars of the film Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma will definitely put their heads together to ensure that the film proves to be a fitting tribute to Yash Chopra.”

Big B

Varun Dhawan

“He is reacting not like a director but as a father. He is just very proud that I am doing something in life and my first film has released, people have liked my performance,” Varun Dhawan told.
Another reason why Varun is celebrating is because Amitabh Bachchan too loved his performance and took to twitter to admire the young actor.
Varun told, “Amitji (Amitabh) has tweeted for me saying that he liked my work. So that is a really big thing for me that Amitji has said something for me.”

Enjoy the Katrina and Shahrukh’s song ‘Ishq Shava’!

With every new song of Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hain Jaan, the buzz around the romantic saga is only increasing. The newest teaser of ‘Ishq Shava’, a song which was supposedly the second track of the film, is out.
Sung by Raghav Mathur and Shilpa Rao, ‘Ishq Shava’ is a catchy number, featuring katrina Kaif and Shahrukh Khan showcasing the flexible sides on the dance floor. Music by A R Rehman is superb. The zippy Arabic music is fused nicely with the varied techno sounds.
Yet again, Shahrukh-Katrina sizzling chemistry is seen in the teaser. The full song will release on 24 October.
An insider from the production house tells, “Ishq Shava is one of the highlights of the soundtrack,”
“The video is very edgy, with SRK and Kat performing with freestyle dancers in an underground club and on board a boat on the River Thames. The lyrics to the chorus are picturised on Khan and the dancers. ‘Ishq Shava/ Ishq Shava/ Ishq Shava/ Hey.’”
Khan’s look in the video has been created by designer Shiraz Siddiqui and Kaif’s by Manish Malhotra.
“SRK has been given a hip, street style in a checked shirt, and jeans tucked into boots,” further added the source.
“Manish has ramped up the glam for Katrina with a Comme De Garcon red leather bolero jacket, but has teamed this with industrial biker boots similar to what she wore in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.”

Big B feels sad about unable to fulfill a wish of Yash Chopra!

Big B, Yash Chopra
Superstar Amitabh Bachchan tells a lot of personal memories went through his mind as he sat besides the body of late Yash Chopra at the Yash Raj Studios here. The filmmaker deserved to stay longer with the Bollywood fraternity, he tells.
"An association of 44 years abruptly comes to an end. He went away too soon and too abruptly. He deserved to be with us longer. Yash Chopra, a friend first, a creative legend later, has passed away this (Sunday) evening in the late hours," Amitabh posted on his blog.
Big B further said, "As I sit beside his still and flower-decked body in his studio within the portals of the large common patio, there does not pass a moment when all that we shared flashes by. This colossal studio that he built after years of hard work and labour, shall for the next day, house his last physical remain.”
"I doubt if he had ever dreamt that this unique and most distinguished facility would find space to accommodate him in the state that we see him today," he further added.
Amitabh, who worked with Chopra in movies like "Kabhi Kabhie", "Silsila" and "Trishul", recalled that he last met the filmmaker on his own 70th birthday celebrations.
"I last saw him on my birthday celebrations. He was indisposed and the doctors advised him rest, but he was insistent on coming over. He had made a commitment he said," posted Amitabh.
"He had been asked to speak, one among four others that did that evening, over the sit-down dinner. His words still ring in my ear and what remains are the resonance of his goodness and feeling that he exuded towards me," he further added.
However, Amitabh has one regret...
"For some months lately, he had been calling and telling me to drop by in the early hours of the morning as I returned from the gym for 'just a chat - no work, no issues, just a chat'. I had promised him that I would, and I never was able to," posted Big B.
Chopra passed away Sunday evening at the Lilavati Hospital following multiple organ failure. He was 80, and was admitted to hospital after he was diagnosed as having dengue.

The unexpected demise of veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra has left megastar Shah Rukh Khan bereaved. He describes it as a personal loss, and tells he will always keep a part of the filmmaker in his heart.
Chopra breathed his last due to a multi-organ failure here Sunday evening. He was 80.
"Whenever my loved ones depart, I feel a part of me extinguishes itself with them. Will there come a day that I will no longer have a bit of myself to let go of? And then the thought follows ... that every time they have taken some of me with them onto their last journey, I have found a fragment of them left inside me too.
"I will always have some love to give and I will always be both emptied and replenished by the loved ones I lose. I keep u with me Yashji and I miss u too Yashji ... lots," Shah Rukh wrote on his Facebook page.
Shah Rukh was special for Chopra, who directed the actor in movies like "Darr" (1993), "Dil To Pagal Hai" (1997) and "Veer-Zaara" (2004). Chopra's last directorial "Jab Tak Hai Jaan", which will hit the screens Nov 13, also features Shah Rukh.
The actor was like family to him - sharing the joys and sorrows. No wonder he rushed to the Lilavati Hospital as soon as the news of Chopra's death was announced.
In fact, Shah Rukh also chose to leave his car and sit in the same vehicle which transported Chopra's body from the hospital to the filmmaker's residence.
The actor had a warm tête-à-tête with Chopra on the latter's 80th birthday in September.

Bollywood Celebrities turn up to pay homage to late Yash Chopra!

Several Bollywood bigwigs, including megastars such as Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan turned up to pay their last respects to veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, known as the country's king of celluloid romance.
Chopra died at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital. He was 80 years old.
According to a Yash Raj Films spokeperson, the director died in the evening after a week long hospitalisation in which he received treatment for suspected dengue fever.
Later his body was taken from the hospital to the premises of the Yash Raj Studios, which was set up by Yash Chopra. This venue became one of the biggest film production houses in Bollywood.
"We have stayed together with each other. I was shocked by the news," told veteran Hindi movies director Ramesh Sippy.
Movie director Madhur Bhandarkar said that his death has come as a shock.
He was also astonished at the outbreak of dengue that had caused the demise of Yash Chopra.
"A few days ago news had come in that he was recovering and he would be back to work. Everyone was waiting for his movie to release. It has been quite shocking for all of us," told Madhur Bhandarkar.
In the meantime in the satellite city of Thane, veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff told that the industry had lost one of the best possible film producer-directors.
"It is sad that Yashji has passed away. He was one of the biggest directors of our industry. After coming here I got to hear the news. I express my condolences to his family, and I shall go there straight from here," mourned Jackie Shroff.
Born in 1932 at Lahore, now in Pakistan, Yash Chopra was favoured by leading Indian actors with his movies seen as a sure-fire way to become a hit with audiences.
The filmmaker proved his mettle with intensely emotional and tragic movies, many of which went on to become box-office hits.
His career spanned five decades, and at an event marking his 80th birthday last month, Chopra narrated how he came to Mumbai with 200 rupees in his pocket, hoping to make it as a film director.
Working in the shadows of his brother, Baldev Raj Chopra, another legendary figure in the Indian movie industry, better known as B R Chopra, Yash ascended the ladder and in the process was involved in classical movies such as 'Sadhana', 'Dhool Ka Phool', 'Dharmaputra', 'Waqt', Ittefaq' 'Aadmi Aur Insaan' among others.
Since then, Chopra made some of Indian cinema's most memorable films-such as 'Deewar', 'Kabhi Kabhi', 'Silsila' and 'Chandni'.
His glitzy style of making movies shot in exotic locales and mellifluous music became a hallmark, endearing him to moviegoers.
Chiffon sarees and the Swiss Alps are so synonymous with Chopra's style of filmmaking that Switzerland Tourism even offered visitors a guided tour of the places where the director filmed some of his most famous songs and scenes.
Riding on his success, Chopra established Yash Raj Films, one of Bollywood's biggest production houses, indeed an apt tribute to his elder brother Baldev Raj's BR Films, well recognised by the italicised letters.
Chopra also produced Indian cinema's longest-running hit, 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (1995) that also marked the debut of his son Aditya as director.
'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' with Chopra at the helm for the last time, opens in cinemas in November, eight years after his last project 'Veer-Zaara', a passionate tale of love across borders.
The film features Shah Rukh Khan, one of Bollywood's biggest stars, along with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

Only 'khichdi' (hotchpotch) type film satisfies to everyone: Anurag Kashyap

People should first make movies they are thrilled about and then find the audience, tells filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, readying for the release of "Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana", his next production.
"There is not a single film that is for every audience. There is no such formula. They should just make films they are excited about and then figure out the audience," Kashyap said.
The 40-year-old is currently basking in the success of his two-part crime drama, "Gangs Of Wasseypur-I and II".
"We cannot mould a film so that every one understands it. If you try to cater to everyone's needs, then you can only make a 'khichdi' (hotchpotch). Khichdi caters to everyone," he told.
There is a lot of 'masala' in "Luv Shuv...", but it is not a kichdi, tells Kashyap.
Directed by debutant Sameer Sharma, "Luv Shuv... " is releasing Nov 2.
"It is not a masala film but is about masala," he told.
"It's like a film Hrishikesh Mukherjee used to make -- a cute love story with a good script. You will laugh because you will identify with so many things in the movie," he told.
Anurag Kashyap, who earlier made "Dev D", a modern-day retelling of a 19th century story, spoke of audiences putting limits on creative people.
"People want a filmmaker to keep making the same thing," he told.
But now audiences do not know what the filmmaker would do next, he said. And they are accepting new kinds of movies, he added.
"It would be scary when they would wish to watch the same kind of films...like a few years ago," Kashyap told.
He says pressure is good for a filmmaker.
"It keeps us on an edge and away from sticking to a formula. I will love that pressure than anything else," he told.
For Kashyap, "cinema is everything".
"It was all I know and all I wanted to do. Cinema does a lot of things to people. It gives them experience, entertainment and provokes and evokes something in them.
"Cinema is more powerful than we think it to be. I just hope our government also starts taking Indian cinema seriously like governments in other countries," he told.
