Kareena Kapoor may have hardly given an eight-minute
performance at a Chhattisgarh gig, to mark the 12th foundation day of the
state. Any guesses, how much the actress was paid for it???
Well, the Chhattisgarh government disclosed that, a whooping
sum of Rs 1.40 crore was shelled out on the Bollywood actress for her
performance, which happened last month.
Seemingly, the dance show, which was scheduled to run for
two hours, had been cut down to hardly 15 minutes due to heavy rains. Around
245 artistes performed during the weeklong (Nov 1-7) anniversary and the
government paid over Rs.5 crore to them.
Besides Bebo, popular artistes such as Sonu Nigam
(Rs.36,50,000), Sunidhi Chauhan (Rs.32,00,000), Dia Mirza (Rs.25,00,000),
Himesh Reshammiya (Rs.24,00,000) and Pankaj Udhas (Rs.90,000), also performed.
Leave performances along. The minister disclosed that a
separate bill of Rs.54,62,461 was spent on inviting the artistes and their
travel expenditure while the bill for artistes’ lodging and food was put at
Rs.11,67,956.
In the meantime, Kareena Kapoor is busy preparing for her
latest role as an investigative journalist in the film Satyagraha, where here
character will be based on the CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour.
