Campaigning with mom Moon Moon humbling experience, says Riya sen!

For Bollywood actress Riya Sen, joining mother and Trinamool Congress candidate Moon Moon Sen on her road shows in West Bengal's Bankura district has been a "humbling experience" with the "warmth of the people" sheltering them from the soaring mercury.

With daughters - actresses Raima and Riya - in tow, Moon Moon Sen wooed the voters, who turned out in large numbers to catch a bit of stardust, in her constituency.

"Standing amidst a crowd of 40,000 people of Bankura is a humbling experience! See you all in the evening again," Riya posted Wednesday during a road show in Bankura's Mejia locality.

"If you ask me, I think the warmth of the people here at Bankura put the heat to shame!" she told.

The Oxford-educated Moon Moon Sen had the two starlets as constant companions as she filed her nomination papers Wednesday for the Bankura Lok Sabha seat.

"Roads washed with water for my mom's road show at Bankura! Best joke ever, anyway great turnout and response! Overwhelmed!," Riya chirped on the microblogging site.

Pakistani actress Veena Malik and Riya Sen, known for their enmity, courtesy Ashmit Patel, are playing lead roles in "Zindagi 50-50", but they shot their scenes independently. Now director Rajeev Ruia wants them to shoot an item number together for the film.

Riya, an ex-girlfriend of Ashmit, was not really happy sharing the screen space with Veena who came closer to the actor when they participated in fourth season of the reality show "Bigg Boss".

"Both Veena and Riya had problems with each other. They didn't want to face each other. So I had to schedule two different shoots for both Veena and Riya. I am done with Veena's shoot and presently we are busy with Riya's shoot," Ruia told IANS.

But now he wants them to shoot together for an item number.

"After finishing the entire film, I have decided to direct an item song with Veena and Riya. I will try my best to convince both of them for the item number," told Ruia.

"Zindagi 50-50" is about the lives of three struggling girls and the cast also includes Supriya Kumari, Rajpal Yadav, Arya Babbar and Rajan Verma. While Veena plays a sex worker, Riya will be seen as a junior artist in it.

Before casting Veena, Ruia had signed Nisha Kothari.

"After watching Veena in 'Bigg Boss', I thought she will be perfect as a sex worker and will justify the role. So I asked Veena to replace Nisha Kothari," he told.

Riya Sen says no to shoot item song!

Riya Sen played quite a spoilsport on the sets of new director Ishraq Shah's 'Ek Bura Aadmi' when she not only refused to shoot an item song with Arunoday Singh, but also refrained from interacting with the media invited to cover the shooting.

It was a nightmare, tells the director. Riya says this is all a publicity stunt.

Shah remembered, 'Riya Sen had signed on to do an item song . We had recorded a really zingy song 'Uchal gayee chamiya kunwaron ke beech mein'. Jayesh Pradhan who did the choreography in 'Aarakashan' was supposed to choreograph Riya's number. Everything was finalised, But then...

'She claimed she was unwell and could not rehearse for the item song. Then she showed up for just one shot. I agreed since Arunoday had to leave (for a family event in the US). But then she refused to talk to the media.'

The director was left anxious.

'I'm a new director. This is all very new and embarrassing for me. My producer has suffered losses of at least 70-80 lakh because of this. I don't know how I will shoot the song now.’

'Arunoday has gone for a month. When he returns he immediately starts shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Heroine'. My mentor Gulzar saab had worked with the great Suchitra Sen. Look at what I had to go through on my birthday with her granddaughter!' included Shah.

An upset and ill Riya had another story to tell.

She added, 'This is all a publicity gimmick, as far as I can see. Ishraq Shah is a new director. I helped him out by agreeing to do the song. Besides, I thought the song was nice and I could use it in my shows. According to the contract, we were supposed to shoot on 4th and 5th October. He requested me to come for the shoot on the 3rd because he said Arunoday was leaving the same night for the US. I agreed out of kindness, although I've been unwell. But at the shoot there was pure chaos.’

She further added, 'There was a very strange set of media persons at the shoot whom I had never seen before. They kept coming in front of the camera while we were shooting. The director asked me to speak to the media. I refused. Please understand I wasn't even supposed to shoot on Monday. Is this what I get for my kindness? Why use my name for publicity?'

Riya is also upset with veteran actor-filmmaker Dev Anand for allegation against her on her late coming ways for his movie 'Chargesheet'.

'We recently had Dev Anand being quoted against me. I shot for his 'Chargesheet' three years ago. If he had a problem with me, why didn't he speak earlier? Why at the time of release?'

Last heard, Riya's mother Moon Moon Sen was trying for a patch up between her daughter and the director of 'Ek Bura Aadmi'.

Media buzzes that there is another new film coming up in the upcoming week with Bollywood actors Riya Sen and Vinay Pathak in the lead role. The Bollywood actor Vinay Pathak has been performing with Riya Sen after he completed his performances with Lara Dutta and Minissha Lamba in the current year. Vinay Pathak is working for Deepa Sahi’s directed introduction film by name “Tere Mere Phere”.

Media talked Vinay Pathak in their meet and Vinay was asked how is it that he is able to get beautiful heroines to perform with and Vinay Pathak tells he is very lucky and gifted to work with them. He compliments Riya Sen saying Riya is very gorgeous sand beautiful that one can’t take out his or her eyes from seeing Riya. She is one among the inborn actresses he is aware of. Vinay tells the media that Riya is active just a second before the actor says action camera on, and Riya naturally tells that Vinay has a trouble-free appeal whereas other people try too tough.

Vinay informs the media that this new film with Riya has the story similar to the recent one that was released and was a super hit by named “Band Baaja Baaraat” and also “Tanu Weds Manu”.

The movie is pasteurized mainly on marriage. Vinay also says it is a crazy and loony film. It is amusing but it has still not a childish humor.
