Aishwarya reunites with Rituparno Ghosh for the role of Devi Chaudhurani!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been in to discussion with Rituparno Ghosh for his upcoming movie. He has offered her to portray the role of Devi Chaudhurani in the screen adaptation of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s famous novel.

The novel ‘Devi Chaudhurani’ was first published in 1884 and was later translated in English by Subodh Chunder Mitter. However, it was banned by Britishers as it led to patriotic fervor in the women, when they were still in purdah (veil). The ban was lifted only after the independence.

The filmmaker is as of now busy with his dance drama and the actress too had been busy until now with her movies and Hugh Jackman event. They both have assured that if ever the movie will be made Ash will star in it.

They have worked together in the past in national award winning movies like ‘Choker Bali’ and ‘Raincoat’.
