Sidharth Malhotra’s encounter with evilness!

Those who were astonished to see the dark side of Sidharth Malhotra in Ek Villain are in for a bigger surprise. He confesses to honing his wicked talents in real life from a very young age.

Grinning naughtily, he shares, “I have an elder brother — he is six years older to me – who I never succeeded in outdoing when we fought. Since we were boys, we would fight often, and he would always have the upper hand. Once, we had a big fight and I was very upset off that he scored over me again.’

What a furious Sidharth admits to having done next has a believe-it-or-not ring to it. Sidharth tells, “I took his tooth brush and dipped it into the loo pot. I quietly kept it back where my brother would keep it. When my brother had used the brush for two days, I told him about my payback act. Even now I keep reminding him about the incident once in a while and he rushes off to rinse his mouth.”

Many new producers… more opportunities, says Sidharth Malhotra!

Even as star kids continue to enjoy easy passes into acting careers in Bollywood, actor Sidharth Malhotra tells there are more than enough opportunities for youngsters whose families are not a part of the movie industry.

At the inauguration of a casting studio started by famous casting director Mukesh Chhabra (who was instrumental in Sidharth being cast in his next movie Ek Villain), Sidharth rejected the belief that newcomers with no family connections to the industry have a hard time finding a foothold, and declared, “I have got the best launch in the last three years; I got launched by Dharma Productions! I cannot say that outsiders are not making it!” Encouraging strugglers to see the brighter side, he further added, “There are so many new producers and a vast increase in the number of films being made, so now everyone is getting opportunities. Of course, nothing is easy but opportunities have increased. The rest depends on your talent.”

Success did not come easy for the Ek Villain actor either as he too had to go through a series of auditions to prove his talent before he finally got the break in Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year. He remembered, “I was shooting for My Name is Khan (as an assistant director) when Karan Johar observed Varun (Dhawan) and me. He made us audition not once but six times! He made us dance, act, cry and only when he truly believed that we had potential, he finalised us.” With a laugh, Sidharth reveals, “My first audition was terrible … I had to do the same audition four times just to convince them that I could do the job.”

Sidharth, who has been playing the good boy in his movies so far will be seen as a gangster in Ek Villain, and he thanked Mukesh for helping him with the role. Sidharth declared that he was able to pull of the role in a better way thanks to a workshop with Mukesh. He told, “Mukesh teaches a lot. He made us (Shraddha Kapoor and me) do crazy stuff during the workshops so that we could perform our characters better.”

The well-known casting couch might take a backseat in the days of professional casting agencies. Sidharth definitely believes the casting couch is old news. He told, “I think it (the casting couch) is very passé. I never had to experience anything like that. Maybe it happened ages ago. I don’t think anyone would spend so much money on another just for personal favors.”

Arjun Kapoor cheers his peers – Varun, Sidharth and Ranveer!

In the late 80s-early 90s, there was a wave of new actors – Aamir, Salman, Shah Rukh, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn — who stormed in and took over the box office. The recent past too has witnessed of many new names — Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Sushant Singh Rajput and Tiger Shroff – who have shot to fame, ensuring Bollywood Generation Next is pretty much in place.

But this time, there is much bonhomie among the teenagers. For example, Arjun Kapoor cheers loudly for his peers. “Competition is good,” tells Arjun, “but there are lot of films being made, so why get bogged down by comparisons and discussions? Each one of us is in a profession that so many people dream to be in. We are fortunate enough to have placed our first step. Why wish ill and bring in negative energy?”

With a 100-crore success in 2 States behind him and a Tevar to look forward to, Arjun is generous in his praise for his colleagues. He tells, “I saw Sidharth’s Hasee Toh Phasee and loved his work so much that I woke him from his sleep and congratulated him. His Ek Villain is looking interesting too. I was upset for a long time that I couldn’t see Varun’s Main Tera Hero but it will be interesting to watch his Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya. And Ranveer, of course, is a brother after Gunday, and I always look forward to his work. I am very excited about him doing Kill Dil.”

Sidharth Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapur are the new foes in bollywood!

Sidharth Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapur are the new foes in B-town, and we won’t be surprised if you guessed the reason. We do know who you think it is, and you are right. According to the grapevine, it’s Shraddha Kapoor.

Nowadays, Adi and Shraddha are touted to be a couple that we all know. But problem began when the Aashiqui 2 lady started to get a close and super friendly to her Ek Villain co-star Sidharth Malhotra. And this proximity noticeably did not go down well with her alleged boyfriend Aditya.

If sources are to be believed, at a recent party thrown by casting director Mukesh Chhabra, Sid and Adi, who were very much present at the do, looked very uncomfortable in each other’s presence. In fact, the duo actually ignored each other royally.

“Shraddha and Sid, who are currently on a promotional spree for their next film, were spotted entering the event together. They posed for the photographers together too. A little later Aditya walked in but he did not pose for any pictures with Shraddha. He did go up to her and chat but he turned a blind eye to Sid who was standing right beside her. Sid did exactly the same and looked through Aditya” revealed the source.

I'm still a Delhi boy at heart, says Sidharth Malhotra!

Sidharth Malhotra, who shifted base from the capital to the country's entertainment capital Mumbai, tells while Mumbai has made him what he is today, he's still a Delhi boy at heart.

"I was lucky to come in (to Mumbai) at a time when they (people) were looking for new talent. I have done my share of auditions. I have evolved and changed over the period and Mumbai has a lot to do with that," the 29-year-old.

"Mumbai has added so much to my personality, the exposure that you get and people you meet, the professionalism here, which we should have in Delhi. But I am still a Delhi boy at heart and Delhi is my home but Mumbai is great too," he further added.

Sidharth tells being an outsider made things tough for him when he first came to Mumbai to become an actor. But hard work and focus helped.

"It's always tough when you come from a different town, you don't know anybody and don't have any family...no support system, professionally or personally. Mumbai is a tough city but it has given me everything today. It requires you to be a little patient, to be focussed and to work hard," Sidharth told.

Sidharth made his debut with "Student of The Year" in 2012 and was last seen in "Hasee Toh Phasee."

His next is Mohit Suri's "Ek Villain" where he will be seen in a grey character. It also stars Shraddha Kapoor.
