Mohit Suri wants new fresh faces for 'Aashiqui 2'!

Mohit Suri is set to wield the megaphone for the follow-up to 1990 movie "Aashiqui" and the director says he now plans to rope in new faces for it.
Different the original, the story of "Aashiqui 2" would be upgraded to suit the modern times, Suri told.
"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story. It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri said.
"Aashiqui" won critical accolades after its release at the time. It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this movie. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," told Mohit.
While some are referring to "Aashiqui 2" as a sequel, others are calling it a remake. However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight.
"It is neither a sequel nor a remake. It can be said as the musical series of 'Aashiqui'...a new generation is making this film," he told.

'Aashiqui 2' is all about Mahesh Bhatt's first love!

Mahesh Bhatt
Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who is looking forward to start the production of "Aashiqui 2", calls it an autobiographical movie and promises it would be a musical treat.
"The best kept secret about 'Aashiqui..' is that it is also an autobiographical film, as it deals with the story of my very first love," Bhatt posted.
The film is the follow up of 1990 movie "Aashiqui" starring Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. Part two will be directed by Mohit Suri.
Talking about the project, Bhatt posted: "The dream is the same.... the dreamers change. many years later I sit here replaying the memories of a pact that was made between me and Gulshan Kumar. The year was 1991.
"'Make me a musical love story and I promise you that the movie will remain in the hearts of every Indian for decades to come...,' he told."
"Let us make a movie that captures all the seasons of the heart in love... the human heart has remained unchanged since the dawn of time. 21 years later, Bhushan Kumar and Mohit Suri have come together to dream the same dream that we did 21 years ago. 'Aashiqui 2' will dare to rise up to the expectations ignited by this ageless musical and continue the legacy...," he wrote.
It was also reported that "Aashiqui 2" is a remake. However, the filmmaker is quick to deny it, saying: "'Aashiqui 2' is being written by Shagufta Rafique and it is not a REMAKE!"

Mahesh Bhatt wants to take out guilt from sex with ‘Murder’ franchise!

Disclosing that he never wanted to cast Mallika Sherawat for 'Murder 2', filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt tells that he is planning to make 'Murder' a franchise and will be coming out with sequels of the erotic crime thriller.
'We didn't feel the need of Mallika in 'Murder 2'. We never wanted Mallika back because unlike 'Murder', which was a woman's movie, this is a man's film,' Bhatt said.
Bhatt tells that casting Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandez in the movie was a spur-of-the-moment decision.
'When we were discussing the casting, someone spoke about her and said that she had done a movie, 'Aladin', but it failed at the box office. We saw her photographs and she came to the office, we liked her and took the call. We never thought of anyone else,' told Bhatt.
The 61-year-old also revealed that he wanted to make 'Murder' a brand and would continue making a series of sequels.
'We decided to make 'Murder 2' with a clear understanding that it would have the key components that were in 'Murder', which is erotica, edginess and experience of crime and thrills. And this is going to be the brand of 'Murder'. We are not going to stop here. We are going to make 'Murder 3' 'Murder 4' and so on,' the prolific director told.
Releasing July 8, 'Murder 2', directed by Mohit Suri, explores the life of a couple, dealing with the uncertainty of their relationship.
'What I have seen is that problems of unmarried couples are more than that of married couples. That's what it's there in 'Murder 2',' tells Bhatt, who has made path-breaking movies like 'Saaransh', 'Arth', 'Daddy', 'Sadak' and 'Zakham'.
'The problem of Jacqueline is that she sleeps with this man, has the companionship of this man, he loves her but the problem is of commitment. This is the age where young people are frightened to make commitments,' told Bhatt.
In the last decade, Bhatt's banner has given hits like 'Jism' and 'Murder'.
Bhatt tells his movies have high sexual content as he wants to dust out the feeling of guilt associated with the term sex.
'I want to take out guilt from sex. There is an age-old relation between sex and guilt. Indian heroines used to be very hesitant about doing bold scenes, taking it to be a dirty thing. That's the fountainhead of your life, how could it be dirty?' he questioned.
'In the 21st century, we have increased the sexual content as India has changed. Its thought processes have changed and so have changed the sexual references,' told Bhatt.

Mohit Suri wants popcorn cinema now!

Young director Mohit Suri, known for making only dark and intense movies, tells he is now inclined towards light, popcorn cinema.
'It was a conscious decision to make movies like these when I was younger because everyone my age at that time was making sweet popcorn movies. I wanted to be different and I knew I could do it; so I made hard hitting movies. But I know I'm looking forward to a lighter movie,' Suri said.
The 30-year-old has made movies like 'Zehar', 'Kalyug', 'Awaarapan', 'Woh Lamhe' and now 'Murder 2'.

Mohit Suri dubs Jacqueline Fernandez dialogues due to diction problem!

Director Mohit Suri, who has directed Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez in his forthcoming movie 'Murder 2', had to dub a few of her lines because of pronunciation problems.
'Jacqueline is a very hardworking girl and she really worked hard on her diction. I have retained most of her dialogues in the film and have dubbed only a few portions of her voice. But otherwise she has done everything on her own. She used to listen to the recorded lines and memorize the diction.’
'Murder 2' also stars Emraan Hashmi and is slated to hit the screens July 8.

Director Mohit Suri says, Lovemaking is the most difficult scene to shoot!

Showing intimate scenes on the big screen is not outlawed in the film industry any more and filmmakers often include a good dose of it. But director Mohit Suri tells shooting bedroom scenes can be a nightmare.
Suri, who has directed forthcoming thriller 'Murder 2', a sequel to 2004 hit film 'Murder', has shot a few lovemaking scenes with the lead pair Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez.
'Lovemaking is the most difficult scene to shoot because there the director cannot show the actors what to do. You have to let the actors be and let them do their own thing,' the 30-year-old director told.
'Although a lot of people say it's very easy to shoot for physically intimate scenes and its fun... that's all untrue because it is no fun. It's a very uncomfortable situation. It's very difficult to shoot, even for the cameraman, because you don't know in which direction the actor will go. Lighting is also an issue. You have to keep so many things in mind,' he included.
In order to make both Emraan and Jacqueline comfortable during the shots, Suri kept intimate scenes for the last schedule.
'I shot all intimate scenes in the end deliberately so that Emraan and Jacqueline get to know each other and got that trust and faith in each other before. You can't ask two people on the first day to do intimate scenes. It's difficult. 'It's important that the actors have a rapport before they do such scenes,' told Suri who is not new on the job - he has movies like 'Zehar', 'Kalyug', 'Woh Lamhe' and 'Crook' that have bold scenes.
Released in 2004, director Anurag Basu's 'Murder' was one of the few movies of that year to have bold content and Suri discloses that the sequel will also have a heavy dose of the same because that is the requirement of the story.
'If you are showing an illegitimate relationship in a film, it's unfair to show it with two flowers. Emraan and Jacqueline are friends. They are people who are not in love but they are sleeping together. So you can't show that relationship by showing them holding hands and singing songs in parks,' told Suri.
'But we have not pushed sexual content into the film to grab eyeballs. It was incorporated because it was required,' he included.
'Sex in films is always used for titillation. If anyone says that they are using it artistically, they are lying. There is no such thing. But even a song is there for titillation. If you see a good song, it excites you. If you see a good action sequence, it thrills you. If you see a good dance number, it entertains you. So everything is for titillation.
'We are in a business of exciting people. It's not for artistic reality,' told Suri, who is filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's nephew.
'Murder 2', which has been produced under the banner of Vishesh Films, is slated to hit screens July 8.
