In an exciting disclosure, Rajkumar Hirani tells that his
third part of the successful Munnabhai franchise with Sanjay Dutt and
Arshad Warsi will be based in India – and NOT America.
“I will start writing Munnabhai with a fresh mind,
but only after I’m through with Sanju’s biopic which will consume a lot of
time. And let me tell you, the third part of Munnabhai will be shot
in India and
not America
which was the plan earlier. In fact, we also shot some portions for Munnabhai
Chale Amrika trailer but that’s been scrapped now. Hopefully, by the time
Sanju is out of prison, Munnabhai script will be ready.” revealed Rajkumar
Hirani.
Explaining why he’s so charged up about the Sanjay Dutt
biopic, he tells, “While we were shooting PK, Sanju’s arrest order was
issued by the Supreme Court and that was his biggest setback. Before going to jail,
we used to sit often and talk for hours where he told me a lot of things about
his life. His life is so interesting and exciting. I thought the common man
will love it. His life story – the ups and downs – makes for an intriguing
subject matter.”
