For persons who do not know about ‘Pithamagan’, it is a Tamil super hit that starred Vikram and Suriya. Even Bollywood is well aware of both these South megastars, Vikram played the cop’s role in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan and we got to see Suriya’s acring ability in Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra II. Pithamagan was both a critical and commercial success, and fetched Vikram a National Award and Suriya stardom.
Satish Kaushik has obtained the rights of this super hit movie and is planning to remake it for the Bollywood viewers. If all goes well, Satish plans to rope in Hrithik and Saif for playing the lead roles. Satish Kaushik is not new to remakes and has remade several movies in the past, one among which is Salman Khan’s Tere Naam, which incidentally was also made by the same filmmaker who made Pithamagan.
So, let’s wait and see if Satish can get to cast Hrithik and Saif together, who should be perfect for the roles played by Suriya and Vikram.
