Salim Khan and Director |
Salim Khan gives away his Zanjeer Filmfare award to the directors of 'Chillar Party' after watching the movie.
As a father, it’s only natural to give confidence one’s kids in whatever they may attempt to do. But Salman Khan’s daddy dearest takes this ideology to another level as he lately gave away his Filmfare trophy earned for scripting ‘Zanjeer’ (1973) to the directors of ‘Chillar Party’, Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari. This noble gesture, as he admitted, was fueled by how he actually felt after watching beta Salman’s home production.
Salim included, “This is my way of appreciating good work that I come across. Salman has associated himself with a good product. If films like ‘Chillar Party’ work, good films will be encouraged. We should appreciate such movies.”
The director duo, Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari responsible for the film are clearly elated by this gesture of receiving an award even before their film has released. “It's a great feeling. As far as award go, Salim sir's appreciation has sorted that part. Seriously, we couldn't have asked for a bigger compliment. Now, we wait for the audience's response,” says Vikas Bahl.
Talking about the film, Salim included, “Chillar Party is genuine, honest and compassionate. It’s also difficult to make a film like this because the cast includes untrained kids and a dog. I hope such movies are made more often.”
