Shifaali Shah who enacts a bored, lethargic housewife unleashing her adventurous streak and running into a criminal in hubby Vipul Shah's production Kucch Luv Jaisaa, did quite the unimaginable.
The actress who displayed acting merit in Satya and Monsoon wedding… spent a day in jail with an under trial to get a first hand feel of her cine character!
Dressed in a white kurti and shorn of greasepaint, Shifaali, who didn't inform director Barnali Shukla or co actor Rahul Bose about her moves… accomplished the act with finesse.
Shifaali says in magazine chitchat, "It was unnerving, but I wanted to be honest. I wanted to be completely non judgmental towards the under trial with whom I spent the day."
Soon enough, Shifaali realized that she did share a common ground of "what two human beings could possibly share," and reveals that they spoke of "everything under the sun, including the food in the jail."
A slimmer, saucier Shifaali asserts that she wanted to destroy her "comfort zone" and challenge her past roles by "coming up with something fresh and exciting."
"Thankfully, I could do so with this film," declares Shifaali.
