The volatile Khan, however, is also open to playing the field in a different way. Err, we didn't mean sexually at all. B'Town celebs who seem fixated on cricket only, Khan has a different ball game in mind previously. Salman Khan has mega plans lined up for football and basketball, even as he is involved in a celebrity cricket league.
Confirming is sporty agenda Salman says in a magazine, "We are ready with the cricket league. As of now we have four teams — Bollywood (called the Mumbai Heroes), Tamil, Telugu and Kannada film industries. Sohail (Khan) is handling it. I will be there to cheer for our boys. It will be as competitive as any other cricket tournament."
Adds Khan significantly, “This is just the beginning. We want all regional film industries like Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, Bhojpuri to join us. It's a serious affair."
Khan's just as kicked up about football and basket ball too. Asserting that cricket is "as big" as football, and that "kids love it more as it's easier and a no frills game," Khan tells.
"Unfortunately, there aren't many football grounds here, and I want to concentrate on that first. Then there's basketball, for which you need even lesser space and just a basket and a ball!"
Tittle-tattle over Ranbir Kapoor showing an interest in being part of the celebrity cricket team has been making the rounds. "I don't know if he is interested in cricket, but we've played football together," says Salman.
Entertainingly, Khan has little qualms about joining forces with the entity who's rumored to be the true reason behind his split with a certain Katrina Kaif. Khan discloses, "Ranbir plays well and when I do something for football, I shall keep him in mind."
