Rapper Abhishek Bachchan’s 'Side B' is all set to launch him as new era rapper and hip hop. Towards 2011 end, Bachchan Jr. will serve up the album with six song numbers in English and Hindi, with tracks composed by Vishal Shekhar.
Abhishek first bagged rave reviews for his hip hop style vocals in ek main aur ek tu…Bluffmaster (2006) and more freshly with the thayn thayn track for Dum Maaro Dum(2011). Never mind the accolades, though, the 35 year old actor remains unsure of his voice.
Confessing that he doesn't really know how well he sings, Abhishek confesses that he's a huge hip hop fan and that he took up the album "at the insistence of Vishal Shekhar."
"I am a huge hip hop fan and we have been working on it for some time," tells the actor in a media chat. Shekhar states that the success of the premier song spurred them on to craft an album clearly with him in mind.
Shekhar tells, "AB was slightly unsure of his voice and wanted more time to get the hip hop style right. But he is just too good behind the mic and we wanted to showcase that to the world."
