Madhur Bhandarkar’s much expected film Heroine starring Kareena Kapoor in the lead, is learnt to be promoted in three different versions of its theatrical trailer, each for a different segment of audience. An uncensored version will also be released online by the filmmaker.

Verifies producers DisneyUTV, “We have cut three trailers for Heroine”.

According to a source, the original trailer will be posted online in its entirety, with the three theatrical trailers certified by the censor board targeting – Indian audiences (U/A), the overseas market (12 years and above in UK), and adult audiences (A) world wide.

The content will not be totally different, according to an insider from the production house:

“For example, we have changed Hindi words like ‘r***i’ (prostitute) to ‘item’ for our U/A trailer. Plus, the cigarette-smoking scene has been blurred. The love-making sequences have also been cut down.”

The movie – rampant with love making scenes, smoking and drinking – is said to be the boldest ever work of Bhandarkar. It is a tale of a movie actress Mahi Arora who was at her peak at one time.

Arjun Rampal is the male lead but the focus is totally on Kareena’s character. Not a single look of Rampal’s been released until now.

The movie will hit in theaters on September 21, Kareena’s 32nd birthday.

The poster of the film Heroine is inspired from the book “The Lost Flamingoes Of Bombay”cover!

Ever since he released the poster of his much anticipated movie Heroine, director Madhur Bhandarkar has been receiving praises from all over the film industry. However, here’s a little hitch.

The poster of the movie is a copy of, or rather is inspired from the book cover of Siddharth Dhanvant Sanghvi’s “The Lost Flamingoes Of Bombay”. The poster has Kareena lying on a bed surrounded with glossies and pictures of herself, with an empty wine glass tipped down.

Not just the poster, it is heard that even the protagonist of Sanghvi’s book is a film heroine named Zaira.

We guess Mr Bhandarkar is not aware of this allegation or should we say, he chose not to respond.

On receiving positive response for the poster, Bhandarkar posted, “Thank you for the enormous & overwhelming response for the posters. Promo is to be launched online on 25th evening.”

The first trailer of Heroine comes out on Wednesday.
