Rani Mukherjee usually prefers to stay away fro the media but now she doesn’t have any choice now but to do rounds of television shows and give interviews for her forthcoming movie ‘Aiyya’.

And since everybody knows about her relationship with Aditya Chopra, the media tried asking her a few questions on the status of her relationship with Aditya. But Rani feels there is no need to talk about their relationship and any question about Aditya Chopra is not exactly cool with her.

The actress also insists that all her interviews be taped. So channel bytes are okay but print media folk need to carry a Dictaphone to ensure that no words are added here and there.

Barfi! touches 100 crore feet!

Barfi!, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz, is now a member of the 100 crore club. This would be fantastic news for the team of Barfi! as Barfi! has also been announced as India’s official entry to the Oscars.

The movie has grossed Rs 100 crore in just 10 days since its release on September 14.

Taran Adarsh posted: “#Barfi has grossed 100 cr *worldwide* in 10 days.”

Barfi! joins this year’s big box office hits Ek Tha Tiger, Bol Bachchan and Rowdy Rathore, all of which have collected Rs 100 crore and over. The movie is still expected to collect a lot more.

Ek Tha Tiger finally gets 200 cr club status!

As anticipated and projected the Yash Raj Film’s last release, which was directed by Kabir Khan, EK Tha Tiger has at last touched the 200 crore mark.

Netting nearly 2 crore in its latest outing, the Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer crossed the 200 crore mark in five weeks, just from India.

EK THA TIGER is also Salman Khan’s biggest overseas grosser with £1,414,600 from UK, Aus$622,200 from Australia and $2,650,000 from the US.

EK Tha Tiger is only the second movie to cross the 200 crore mark after the Amir Khan’s 3 Idiots. However, it looks really tough for ETT to cross the Rajkumar Hirani directed starrer as it’s run has almost come to an end.

Aishwarya Rai takes job of spreading awareness about protecting children from HIV infection!

Former Miss World, actress and now a mother, Aishwarya Rai adds another feather to her cap. She has been appointed as the new international goodwill ambassador for UNAIDS. She has now taken up the job of spreading awareness globally, on protecting children from HIV infection and increasing access to antiretroviral treatment. This is something which has always been very close to her heart.

Seemingly, Ashwarya had been approached by the United Nations for the same cause way back in 2002. But, at that time she couldn’t make a commitment as she was busy with her movie career.

Aishwarya told, “In India you commit to films years ahead, so I could never find that time in the diary to be able to commit to actual work being done, it would have been a great announcement, but I have never been the one about announcements, so I had kept it on hold and then earlier this year we happened to meet when they had actually come down to India and I had expressed that I was interested in real work being done.”

At a press conference, Michel Sidibe, the UNAIDS Executive Director welcomed Aishwarya Rai to the UNAIDS family.

“Mrs. Rai Bachchan is respected and admired by millions of people around the world,” Sidibe told. “I am convinced that through her global outreach, Mrs. Rai Bachchan can help UNAIDS reach its goal of eliminating new HIV infections among children by 2015.”

Aishwarya in turn told, “I am honoured to accept this appointment.”

She further added, “Spreading awareness on health issues, especially related to women and children, has always been a priority for me.”

“And now, as a new mother, I can personally relate to this — the joys and concerns of every mother and the hopes that we have for our children.”

“I strongly believe that every baby should be born free from HIV. And I wish that every woman living with HIV stays healthy and has access to treatment. I promise that with UNAIDS, I will do my utmost to make this happen,” she further added.

The beauty of the 90′s, Sridevi, is back on track with her upcoming movie ‘English Vinglish’, hitting theaters on October 5. The diva essays the role of an unconfident housewife, who enrolls in an English language class in order to impress her husband and family.

Well, do you know, Amitabh Bachchan has a cameo in the movie? Previously too, Big B and Sridevi have worked together in movies like Aakhree Raasta, Inquilab and Khuda Gawah.

The story line of ‘English Vinglish’ and Sridevi’s flawless performance moved Amitabh Bachchan so much that he was left in tears.

“A viewing of ‘English Vinglish’ directed by Gauri Shinde, wife of R Balki tonight, leaves me with collective lumps in the throat and a surge of flushed eyes near the tear ducts.

“And it is not all the emotion of a particular moment that puts one in such state. It is the uncontrollable effect of appreciation that prevents one from expressing any at all…,” Bachchan, 69, wrote on his blog.

The movie portrays the simplicity and ordinariness of life, and this is what impressed the veteran actor.

“In our simplicity lies the true story of a lifetime. Massive explosions and devastating action sequences make you wonder in high adrenalin awe. But equally, the ordinariness of everyday life, strikes many strings that work together in sympathetic chords. It is complex and most difficult to be weathered in by simplistic endeavour,” he wrote.

I can’t be doing ‘Dhoom’ type roles now, says Esha Deol

Esha Deol who just tied the knot, tells she will only do roles from now that will suit her family life.

Married to businessman Bharat Takhtani, Esha Deol revealed, “If something comes my way and if it suits my family situation, I will take it up. It has to be a respectable character, for I can’t be doing ‘Dhoom’ type roles now.”

Talking of her future plans, the 30 year old told, “I have a home production firm and I am starting television production soon. Of course, my classical dance engages me too.”

The actress told that she had no film roles in the pipeline, as of now.

Imran Khan supports a mustache for a ‘Tapori’ role!

Imran Khan will be seen supporting a mustache for his role in the underworld drama Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2.

His look needs a mustache as he will play the role of a ‘Tapori’ in the sequel of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. The chocolate boy was offered a duplicate to avoid a mustache, but Imran chose to follow his uncle Aamir’s way as he insisted on growing one.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the film also stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonali Bandre.

Imran also be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s “Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola”, where he will play a Haryanvi guy. The film also stars Anushka Sharma, Pankaj Kapoor and Shabana Azmi.

Akshay- Twinkle is blessed with a cute baby girl!

The power pair of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna welcome their second baby, a girl, on 25 September.

Twinkle delivered a baby girl early this morning at the Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai.

Proud father Akshay Kumar told, “We are blessed with a lovely baby girl who looks just like her mother and grandmother and I have no words to express my happiness – I would like to thank everyone for their blessings and best wishes.”

Reportedly, Akshay was in Jaipur, promoting his movie ‘Oh My God’, when he heard the news about his wife being admitted to the hospital, last evening. He immediately rushed to Mumbai to be with Twinkle during her delivery.

According to reports, Twinkle was not keeping very fine at the beginning of her pregnancy. However, the delivery was normal and went off well and both mother and daughter are healthy.

The duo has a 10-year-old son Aarav.

Pitt, 48, said in an email interview that is does have an idea of Bollywood films and that he doesn’t mind working in one.

“Indian cinema seems to be growing very well at its own pace. I would love to work in a Bollywood film as there is so much drama and color in the films there,” told Pitt.

“The filmmaking, I hear, has evolved a lot in India and of late we have witnessed some good films making a presence at the Oscars and the world stage,” further added the actor.

“That tells you a lot about the quality of the actors and the movies. You never know when I might decide to work in a Bollywood film and do one of those dance numbers with the whole crew in the backdrop,” Pitt posted.

However, one actress that tops his list is Aishwarya Rai. Pitt finds her very stylish, beautiful and talented.

Katrina is next Madhubala for Ranbir as Kishore Da!

Ranbir Kpoor is presently basking in the success of his newest film Barfi!. Now, it is heard that the actor and director Anurag Basu have already started working on their next together. Their upcoming movie is a biopic on Kishore Kumar.

News has it that Katrina Kaif might play Madhubala in the movie.

However, Basu tells, “We have not thought of anyone as a leading lady yet. As of now only the three of us (Anurag Basu, UTV and Ranbir) are final.”

Basu says Ranbir was confirmed for the role when they began shooting for Barfi!

“I had locked this film with Ranbir when Barfi! was only one schedule old. I had offered it to him and he liked the idea very much and consented to do it,” Basu said.

The shooting of his biopic will begin late 2013 as Ranbir is currently filming for Kashyap brothers – Besharam with Abhinav Kashyap and Bombay Velvet with Anurag Kashyap.

“The film will have madness of Kishore da. I am lucky that this came to me, UTV was planning this movie, Shomit had written a script. I am a big fan of him. I think he was the most colorful person, so full of life. That’s why we thought of making a biopic on his life. It will be a very entertaining film,” Anurag Basu told.

Ranbir will have to undergo an absolute make over to enact the legendary singer/actor.

“We did some look test of young Kishore Kumarji on him (Ranbir). We have gone through several such processes before zeroing in on him to play Kishore da on screen,” Basu told.

Hrithik Roshan’s next is a remake of ‘Knight and Day’!

Hrithik Roshan’s next film is said to be a remake of Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz headlining 2010 action-romance-comedy, ‘Knight and Day’. The movie will be directed by Siddharth Anand.

The movie will be produced by Fox India and the filming will start early next year. Presently, Hrithink is shooting for his home production Krrish 3.

The actress opposite Hrithik is yet to be finalized.

“A call will be taken soon on who will play the leading lady. It is a tough choice to make since the actress will have to match Cameron Diaz’s onscreen charisma,” a source said.

It is heard that the remake will be shot in various locations across the globe.

If all goes well, the remake will be Hrithik’s third back to back action film after Agneepath and Krrish 3.

Salman Khan launches Bigg Boss season 6!

Bollywood’s ‘Tiger’ Salman Khan, who is hosting “Bigg Boss” for the third time now, tells that he isn’t involved in the selection process of the contestants for the show.

Salman told at a press conference, “I don’t want to recommend anyone as I don’t want to be partial or biased. I also get to know at the last minute,”

This season will be the sixth one of the show. It will be telecast at 9pm on Color’s from Oct 7. Many new elements have been added to the format of the show like a pet parrot and a fish. Common people can also take part in the show.

Salman feels that as the host of the show he shouldn’t interfere between the contestants, but last season he couldn’t help meddling due to the circumstances.

“I felt very bad but I was getting feedback about the show from everywhere. I am not supposed to intervene, but it had become too much,” he told.

He also spoke about the contestants who try to act smart in the house so that they can come into the limelight.

“The contestants who were in the house thought they would be seen more on the show. But the winners have always been dignified,” Salman further added.

Bollywood actress Esha Deol and her businessman husband, Bharat Takhtani walked the ramp together for jewellery brand ‘Azva’ at the India Bridal Fashion Week 2012.

While talking to the media, the actress told she doesn’t want her hubby to venture into movies.

“I had always said that I never wanted to marry a hero. He is a successful businessman and I hope he continues to be one. There is no need for him to become an actor,” she told.

This was the first time Esha walked the ramp post wedding and that too with her husband. She loving calls Bharat “a born model”, and that she doesn’t need to give him tips on how to walk the ramp.

“I didn’t give him any tips, he is a born model. He has done many ramp shows when he was in college. He is very confident,” she said.

Seeing Esha as a bride for the second time, Bharat was stunned by her beauty.

“She grows on me every single day. This is like a deja vu experience for me. She looks very beautiful today,” he said.

The bubbly actress told, “I have worked with Salman Khan in tons of films, but when he came on sets, he asked the choreographer to show the steps. Then he said ‘Let’s go for a take’, and he did it perfectly on the first take itself.”

“He is super professional. I thought we will take four to five takes, but we finished in just two takes,” further added Preity.

Anushka Sharma’s role revealed in Jab Tak Hai Jaan!

Anushka Shrama discloses her role in her upcoming film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, opposite SRK andf Katrina Kaif. Only just, news was abuzz that who would wear the white chiffon sari (a trademark of a Yash Chopra films) in the movie. We now know its Katrina who will be the lucky one to adorn the sari. Anushka Sharma, on the other had will mostly be seen in white ganhjis. Her role is that of a “very hardworking and ambitious girl” and a sari will not go with her character in the film.

“I know that there is something like an image about Yashji’s heroines but maybe I am the new age Yash Chopra heroine. There is going to be a white chiffon sari but I am the white ganji girl and that’s what I am going to be wearing,” Anushka said.

She further added, “My role is of a girl of 21-year-old girl who is very hard working and ambitious. She is working for Discovery channel and is trying to make a documentary. I don’t fit into the saree image because of the character but she has the same emotions so it is a Yash Chopra love.”

The 24-year-old also said she is fortunate to be doing a movie with Yash Chopra, and that too his comeback after eight long years makes it even more special.

Anushka tells, “I would have had an incomplete career if I did not have a film by Yash Chopra because everyone called me a Yash Chopra heroine as I was launched by Yash Raj Films. I was doing lot of YRF movies but I was not actually a Yash Chopra heroine till I did this film.”

Bollywood’s ‘Serial Kisser’ Emraan Hashmi’s recent run of success at the box office has people calling him ‘Hit Man Hashmi’ and the actor tells it is better than being called serial kisser.

Emraan told, “It’s better than serial kisser. Please give me that term (‘Hit Man Hashmi’), and everyone use that because I am sick of ‘serial kisser’. I think ‘Hit man Hashmi’ is something I would take right now. I can use it for my entire career.”

The actor’s success is being compared to Sallu’s success, who has been the king of the box office in recent times with films like “Dabangg”, “Bodyguard” and “Ek Tha Tiger”. And Salman recently called Emraan the most underrated actor

Vidya balan’s green signal for ‘Kahaani 2′

Vidya Balan’s Kahaani was a success and now, the actress has given a green signal to the film’s sequel ‘Kahaani 2′.

Vidya gave a magnificent performance in Sujoy Ghosh’s blockbuster mystery thriller Kahaani, where she played a pregnant woman who arrives in Kolkata in search of her missing husband.

Sujoy is approximately ready with the script of the films sequel.

Co-producer Jayantilal Gada says, “We are making Kahaani 2 with Vidya. Kahaani tasted super success. So why shouldn’t we ride on it? My nephew Kushal Gada and Sujoy will be jointly producing it.”

Sujoy also told, “Vidya is the reason I wrote Kahaani, so I need her in the sequel too. The good thing is she never tries to write the script but only encourages. She also listens to my grumbling.”

An insider reveals, “Earlier, Sujoy had other plans. But now he is sure and is going ahead with the second part of Kahaani. Kahaani 2 will also be set in Kolkata. It will have several mystery elements.”

Kahaani, which released worldwide on March 9, 2012, was critically much-admired and was a blockbuster at the box office.

The film will start in 2013.

Barfi! gets an official entry in the 85th Academy Awards 2013!

Anurag Basu’s Barfi! did magic at the box office, and currently, the movie headlining Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz, makes its entry into the 85th Academy Awards 2013 in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Kahaani headlining Vidya Balan and Paan Singh Tomar headlining Irrfan Khan were also in debate with Barfi!

The decision was taken at a Film Federation of India (FFI) meeting in Hyderabad Saturday night. “‘Barfi!’ has indeed been chosen as the country’s official entry this year,” FFI secretary general Suparn Sen told.

This overwhelming news has made the makers of the film and the actors in it jump with joy.

Sharing her excitement with her Twitter fans, Priyanka posted,  “Yaaaaaay!! India’s official entry to the Oscars!!!Anurag sir,RK,Ills,ronnie,Sid n all!wish I was in India to share this!Go team! #BarfiOscars” Priyanka wrote soon after hearing the news.

Priyanka is presently busy wrapping up her debut album, in LA.

Siddharth Roy Kapur, managing director – Studios, Disney UTV, told in a statement, “We are honoured that ‘Barfi!’ has been selected to represent India as its official entry to the Academy Awards 2013. ‘Barfi!’ is very close to the hearts of all of us at UTV, and it gives us great satisfaction that a film we have developed and nurtured from its inception has met with so much love from audiences and critics worldwide.”

“An added source of pride is that this is the fourth UTV film in the last seven years to have been selected to represent India at the Academy awards; our earlier selections being ‘Rang De Basanti’ (2006), ‘Harishchandrachi Factory’ (2009) and ‘Peepli Live’ (2010),” he further added.

Barfi! released Sep 14,continues to earn at the box office.

No Lips Lock - No Horse Riding for SRK now!

Did you aware about superstar Shahrukh Khan’s terms, before signing any film, places two conditions before the filmmaker? Well, if yes, he does.

The two conditions that he places are, says his film contract, “Shahrukh Khan’s film contract reportedly made two things clear: One, the actor will not lock lips with his heroine on screen; two, he will not ride a horse. The second condition came into being after SRK experienced severe back pain a few years ago.”

Few years ago, SRK underwent a major cervical surgery because of his back pain. Talking about his surgery Shahrukh Khan had told, ”I’m fine but its too early to say. One does not really know how good or bad a surgery is till life goes on. But as always, the spirit cannot be stymied.”

Well, it does make sense for him not to ride a horse but locking lips on screen???

Late night romantic dating between Katrina and Ranbir!

Leaving the special screening of his movie Barfi! during the interval, Ranbir Kapoor paid a visit to Katrina Kaif in her Bandra flat at around 11pm on Thursday. The actor was dressed in light blue jeans, bright blue shirt and a red cap worn backwards.

He is said to have left Katrina’s Guldev Sagar flat at around 12:45 am. As soon as he got out, hiding from the paparazzi, Ranbir hopped into his car and zoomed off.

An onlooker revealed, “As expected, Ranbir reached Guldev Sagar around 11pm at night. He left at 12.45am. Trying hard to dodge the paparazzi, he quickly sat in his car and left.”

Just to recollect, not long ago, Katrina too was spotted at Ranbir’s residence at midnight.

Sonakshi accepts the challenge of eating 10 red chillies in one go!

As we all know how Ajay Devgan loves playing pranks on his sets, this time Sonakshi Sinha was the victim of his joke. Allegedly, Ajay teamed up with Sanjay Dutt and challenged Sonakshi to eat a few chillies on the sets of “Son Of Sardar”. Sonakshi being a dare devil accepted the challenge.

Sonakshi is known to have a sweet tooth, but to everyone’s surprise, she ate 10 red chillies in one go.

A source told, “Sonakshi had just started shooting in Patiala with the rest of the crew and Ajay determined to play a prank on her. So Sanju baba and Ajay went to Sonakshi and challenged her to eat few chillies at once. Sonakshi started laughing and accepted the task.”

Now, Sonakshi absolutely knows how to be a sport and have some fun.

Kareena Kapoor is a very straightforward girl at heart and she has to play an opposite role as an actress. she has a tiring task everyday of looking glamorous and attending functions all the time. Even though she doesn’t like doing so.

“I am a very simple girl in real life. I am honest, I love spending time with my family and I love home-cooked food. But in my profession, I have to go for events, award functions and have to look glamorous on shoots. It’s a difficult job, but I don’t know anything else besides this,” Kareena told while unveiling the cover page of Filmfare magazine featuring her.

And in her upcoming movie Heroine, her role highlights the difficulties of being an actress.

Kareena is also thrilled about her next film ‘Satyagraha’ with Prakash Jha and spoke about how happy she is to be working with Ajay Devgan once again.

“He (Prakash Jha) has made great movies with Ajay Devgn before and I have a lovely role, but it’s very soon to talk about it because we start in January. It’s my honour that we (Ajay and she) are working together after a long time and it’s my privilege,” told Kareena who featured with the actor in critically acclaimed “Omkara”.

Apparently, Kareena plays a reporter in “Satyagraha” and the movie also stars megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Salman Khan gets twelve bouncers around him for security!

A star like Salman Khan visibly cannot go unobserved in public. It is heard that the actor is now forced to doubled his security so as to ensure he doesn’t get mobbed by fans. The star’s fame is increasing by the day.

Salman’s bodyguard Shera, who has been with his for the past 15 years, tells a popular magazine, “Earlier, Bhai had six bouncers around him. Now, he has twelve.”

Salman is the only star in Bollywood to have such a large security team.

This crucial step had to be taken when on Eid last month; a huge crowd gathered in front of Salman’s Galaxy apartement and went out of control. In order to disperse the mod, cops were called in, and we hear, there was lathi charge too.
