India's dry run at the Miss Universe competition continued as Vasuki Sunkavalli failed to make it to the final 16 at the Miss Universe 2011 contest here.
Previously, the 27-year-old was disappointed as she could not pose in her national costume because it was not delivered on time.
India hasn't won the crown since 2000. It was model-turned actress Lara Dutta who had won the crown for India in that year.

No Bollywood Plan for Miss Universe India 2011 Vasuki Sunkavalli

Vasuki Sunkavalli, winner of I Am She Miss Universe India 2011,
Tells her priority is physical fitness for the beauty pageant in Brazil and that she has no plans as of now of entering the Hindi film industry.
'I don't have a Bollywood plan, but nevertheless, never say never. I'm a lawyer by profession and have done modelling and Bollywood has never been an option so far. But I don't know. I'll cross the bridge when I come to it,' Vasuki said in an interview.
From Juhi Chawla, to Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza -- all these former beauty queens entered movies after proving their worth in the fashion world.
The 26-year-old Hyderabad girl was crowned Miss Universe India 2011 by former Miss Universe-turned-actress Sushmita Sen at a private ceremony here Friday night. But the results of the contest were unveiled to the media Saturday.
'I always wanted to be Miss Universe. So it was my wish to enter the pageant one day. So, I was blank when my name was announced (as the winner). I wasn't thinking at all. I was numb. But when I woke up in the morning after the crowning, in my subconscious state I imagined myself in a bikini in Sao Paulo and walking the ramp for Miss Universe,' she told of the contest in September.
'I'm not going to be over-confident. From the beginning, I did not even once feel that I did not have the chance. I was confident of the fact that I would be the winner if I wanted to and beyond that I did not think much,' she included.
When asked, what all she needs to work on for the main contest, Vasuki told, 'The top priority for me is physical fitness. People would disagree with me, but I believe that I speak well, but as far as my overall grooming goes, the most I need is in the physical fitness department. Not that I'm fat, I'm quite toned and I'm an athlete. But still....'

Vasuki Sunkavalli, commonly known as Vasuki in the Indian modeling industry, has been chosen to represent India at the Miss Universe contest this year. She tells she is confident of making her country proud.
'In this competition, I met a lot of people from different parts of the country and from different professions. That was very interesting. I am very confident, hopeful and determined that I will bring the crown back. I will give it my best,' Vasuki said.
The 26-year-old Hyderabad girl was crowned Miss Universe India 2011 through former Miss Universe-turned-actress Sushmita Sen's Wadhawan Lifestyle I Am She contest at a private ceremony here Friday night.
But the results of the contest were unveiled in the media Saturday.
Two more crowns were given out. The I Am She Globe International 2011 title was bagged by 23-year-old Parul Duggal, a fashion designer by profession, while 19-year-old Tanvi Singla from Mysore has won the I Am She Asia Pacific 2011 title.
Sushmita, whose production company Tantra Entertainment, was awarded the India franchise by the Miss Universe Organization last year, is glad that her endeavor is now 'three times larger'.
'We have added two new franchises - the Miss Globe International and Miss Asia Pacific. I feel immensely proud to say that with these girls, the chances of the international crowns coming back to India are closer than we think,' she told.
