Veteran actor Rajesh Khanna's last movie "Riyasat"
has got a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The delayed movie is now likely to release around the late superstar's 71st birth
anniversary Dec 29.
The movie was supposed to come out on Rajesh Khanna's birth
anniversary in 2012 but it was then pushed to his death anniversary July 18
this year. However, it did not manage a release even then. But everything is in
place now, tells director Ashok Tyagi.
"Rajesh Khanna represents life. Therefore, it was
inappropriate to release his film on his death anniversary. The film is now
absolutely ready for release with a U/A censor certificate," Tyagi said.
"We have issued pages in the trade magazines requesting
the entire industry to support us in bringing this film to the audience,"
he further added.
"Riyasat" also features Gauri Kulkarni, Aryan
Vaid, Aryeman Ramsay and Raza Murad.
Tyagi feels it will be ideal to release the movie Dec 27,
two days before the actor's 71st birth anniversary.

"Aradhana", "Kati Patang", "Anand", "Amar
Prem", "Do Raaste" and "Aan Milo Sajna" among others.
Actor
Jackie Shroff tells the way his sisters went gaga over late Rajesh Khanna's
"Aradhana" years back ended up giving him a complex about his looks.
"As
a teenager, both my sisters took me along to watch the film 'Aradhana'. And the
way they were reacting sitting besides me, made me think that 'My sisters used
to call me handsome, but who is he'," the 55-year-old told here.
"Aradhana"
proved to be a path-breaking success for Rajesh Khanna aka Kaka, who passed
away July 18 following illness.
Jackie
credits his sisters for introducing him to the late superstar's on-screen
magic.
"I
grew up watching Kakaji's songs, and became such a big fan of him. So, my
sisters introduced me to Kakaji. I think he was phenomenal," added the
actor on the sidelines of a musical tribute held for Rajesh Khanna here.
Among
Jackie's favourite movies of the legend are "Aradhana",
"Train" and "Ittefaq".
As megastar Rajesh Khanna breathed his last at his residence ‘Aashirwad’ in Mumbai on Wednesday, grief and shock gripped the nation. The man who had millions of fans across the country was suffering for a long time and had been discharged from the hospital only on Tuesday .
Born on December 29, 1942, as Jatin Khanna, the actor was raised by the relatives of his biological parents. He attended St. Sebestian’s GoanHigh School along with his childhood friend Ravi Kapoor, who later adopted the screen name Jeetendra. Always high on confidence, Rajesh Khanna was the other name for style. He approached filmmakers in his own MG sports car during his struggling days.
Destined to be an actor, Rajesh Khanna had won several acting competitions at various levels before debuting in ‘Aakhri Khat’ (1966). What else could a first timer wish for other than a director like Chetan Anand. However, his real break was Ravindra Dave’s ‘Raaz’ (1967). After a string of successful films such as ‘Baharon Ke Sapne’, ‘Aradhana’, ‘Ittefaq’, and ‘Do Raaste’, he marched into the hearts of millions of his fans, who credited Khanna with the title of superstar. Delivering 15 consecutive solo hits seemed easy every time his face appeared on the posters of a new film.
Dev Anand’s era was gone and the nation had started digressing from Nehruvian philosophies. Khanna and his contemporary filmmakers realised the importance of providing an alternating reality to the spectators.
The storytellers emphasised on his flawed characters on the screen. It brought him closer to the general audiences who wanted to step ahead of Dev Anand and Guru Dutt’s preaching.
He became the man who loved till death, and who was brave enough to admit his mistakes, unlike his predecessors who knew what emotion they want to evoke right from the first shot.
He didn’t have Greek god’s features, neither he fought with hundreds of goons, in fact he looked vulnerable, but it was this susceptibility which made him endear to his female fans.
Thanks to composers such as SD Burman, Salil Chaudhary and Laxmikant-Pyarelal, an actor became the epitome of romance. He bent his head to peep into the hearts of college going, cycle riding girls.
The second phase of his acting career began with ‘Anand’. Probably his most memorable role till date, ‘Anand’ showed how one can play a character without wearing the superstar tag. ‘Dushman’, ‘Amar Prem’, ‘Bawarchi’, ‘Daag’, ‘Avishkar’, ‘Namak Haram’ and ‘Aap Ki Kasam’, the cordial relation with the audiences went on till the social set up changed its course in 1975.
Rajesh Khanna’s personal life was not as glittering as his screen avatars. His relationship with Anju Mahendru finished on a sad note, while his marriage with Dimple Kapadia was called off after 11 years in 1984. Later, Dimple only became his closest partner in life.
Khanna’s stint with the small screen through serials like ‘Apne Paraye’ and ‘Ittefaq’ can be considered successful.
A try at politics made him an MP from Delhi.
Today, he might not be with his fans (ironically he did a TV commercial saying he will remain with his fans forever), but lovers of every age group will look up to his films for inspiration and hope.
Bollywood's beloved 'Kaka' Rajesh Khanna, who has not been keeping well, is now more than fine, his family told.
"He's more than fine. He is absolutely fine. Thank you for your concern," Rajesh Khanna's son-in-law, actor Akshay Kumar said journalists outside Khanna's bungalow Ashirwad in Bandra here.
Akshay's comment came after the 69-year-old veteran's manager Ashwin said that the actor had stopped food intake for the "last three or four days".
Worried fans lined up outside his house, and India's first superstar Rajesh Khanna gladly obliged by waving to them and showing them the 'V' for victory sign from the balcony of his house. He was dressed in a crisp white kurta, a stole and dark shades.
With a heavily bearded look, he appeared weak, but seemed to be in high spirits as he sported the same smile which in his heydays made millions of his female fans’ hearts skips a beat.
He was accompanied by his estranged wife Dimple Kapadia, who takes regular care of him these days, as well as Akshay, who is wedded to his elder daughter Twinkle.
While Twinkle is expecting her second baby, her younger sister Rinke has flown down to Mumbai to be with her ailing father.
The actor began his career with "Aakhri Khat" in 1966. He became a popular name with his work in movies like "Raaz", "Do Raaste" and "Aradhana" and was crowned "superstar" after he delivered 15 consecutive solo super hits.
In April, he was admitted to a hospital due to a brief health scare.
He freshly featured in a TV commercial for Havell's fan.
All's not well with Hindi filmdom's original megastar Rajesh Khanna. The actor, freshly seen in a TV ad, has stopped intake of food the past few days, while his separated wife Dimple Kapadia is taking care of him.
"Rajeshji is in poor health. He has stopped having food since the last three or four days," the 60-year-old's manager Ashwin said.
"He is not able to have his food. Khaana muh pe nahi jaa raha hai (The food is not going into his mouth)," he added, but didn't confirm if the actor will be admitted to a hospital soon.
Commonly known as 'Kaka', Rajesh Khanna went through a health scare in April too. He was hospitalized following uneasiness back then.
His present ill health brought his younger daughter Rinke to Mumbai Wednesday morning.
"Rinke and her mother Dimple Kapadia are by his side and taking care of him," told Ashwin.
Dimple and Rajesh Khanna's elder daughter Twinkle is expecting her second baby with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar.
