Maria Susairaj has sent a legal notice to Ram Gopal Varma stating that unless RGV shows her his movie ‘Not a Love Story’, she will apply for a stay-order on the movie in Court.

‘Not A Love Story’ is motivated by Neeraj Grover Murder case in which Maria was involved with her fiancĂ©e Jerome. Later Maria got released and now she wants to make sure that she has not been shown in bad light in the movie. She has also sent a notice to the Censor Board as well.

However RGV is firm that he is not going to show her the movie. He tells, "I will not show my film to Maria as I have repeatedly said that my film is just inspired by the incident and not completely based on her. There are so many differences in the movie from the real life incident. My heroine is not a south Indian actress and her fiancee is not in Navy as in real case. Also, the film is just an interpretation of what could have happened and not a reporting on what actually happened. No one was there to know what the reality is. This is not her story and I am not showing the film to her"

The movie has been caught up in controversy in the current times. Previously Ram Gopal Varma had lodged a complaint against the BJP Yuva Morcha for protesting his office. The protest was triggered by Varma’s announcement about casting Maria Susairaj. Following the protest, Varma lodged a complaint after he received a warning letter from the Bharatiya Janata Party threatening him against his decision to cast Susairaj.

With movies trying to be more sensible, the depiction of affection is also getting bolder, tells actress Mahie Gill, who has done intimate scenes in her debut film 'Dev D' and also in her upcoming 'Not A Love Story' but finds them difficult and uncomfortable.
'I feel awkward doing these scenes and it's not very easy because the entire crew is there. But I feel that it's like any other emotion and one has to depict it. The kind of cinema I am doing is realistic and so this is also a part of it,' Mahie said in an interview.
Asked what goes on in her mind while doing intimate scenes, she told, 'The only thing in your mind is that you have to deliver your best. It shouldn't look artificial at all.'
After making an inspiring start with Anurag Kashyap's 'Dev D' in 2009, Mahie did the offbeat 'Gulal' and also had a small part in last year's super hit cop drama 'Dabangg'.
Next in line is the controversial 'Not A Love Story', inspired by the murder of TV executive Neeraj Grover, who was killed by ex-naval officer Jerome Mathew for allegedly having a relationship with his fiancee Maria Susairaj.
In the movie, the 27-year-old had to do love-making scenes with Deepak Dobriyal. She tells director Ram Gopal Varma sent her a 'sorry' message for making her do the shot more than once.
'I trust my director totally and I knew that he will not make it look vulgar. So I was okay with it. The only thing was that we did these scenes on the first day of the shoot... I was taken aback because I wasn't mentally prepared,' she told.
'I have known Deepak for some time, but I was meeting him after long; so it was a little weird initially,' included the actress who will also seen in 'Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster'.
She told that post-'Dev D' most of the roles that were offered to her had bedroom scenes and that's why she declined them.
'After 'Dev D', the thing was that most people, who came to me, would not tell me the story, they would just say that the movie has two kissing scenes and three bedroom scenes, but no story. So I did not do those movies. I won't do such scenes till the time I feel it is required,' she specified.
Mahie's other movies are 'Paan Singh Tomar', 'Micheal' and 'Buddha In A Traffic Jam'.

Raza Murad wants justice for Grover family in pre-meditated murder!

Actor Raza Murad

Neeraj Grover, Actress Maria Susairaj and Emile Jerome
Actor Raza Murad, who with other celebrities is protesting the judgment in the May 2008 killing of television executive Neeraj Grover, tells the Grover family did not get justice.
'The justice that Grover family should have got was not given to them. Whole India thinks that proper justice has not been given to the Grover family. The accused didn't get the punishment they deserved,' Raza said.
He continues that the murder was pre-meditated and Maria Susairaj was similarly involved with her fiancé Jerome Mathew in committing the crime, but she was declared innocent because the prosecution case was not strong enough.
He further added, 'Prosecution was not very strong in this case, so it was not presented well. The murder was pre-meditated. When the person headed for Mumbai from Cochin, he had already set his mind. Maria Susairaj was in league with the murderer from the very beginning.'
'If she is claiming to be innocent, she should have gone to police station instead of going to the mall to get shopping bags. So she's equally involved in this crime,' told Raza.
Susairaj was sentenced to three years in jail on charges of demolishing evidence pertaining to the Grover killing, and walked out of Byculla Jail free Saturday as she had already completed the sentence as an under-trial.
'We are from the show business, so when we join any movement, it draws more media attention. So, as the citizen of this country, collectively we have decided to pursue this case and convince the government to move the higher court and give justice to the aggrieved family,' told Raza.
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit and television actress Indira Krishnan joined Raza in the protest.
Candlelight processions will be organized in Lucknow and Kanpur, where Grover's parents live.
'We are in process of meeting the police chief and we will take an appointment from the chief minister and the home minister also and we will request the government to put this case in the higher court for fast justice,' told Raza.
Susairaj's fiance ex-naval officer Jerome Mathew was held guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, and sentenced to 10 years in jail, of which he will serve seven in prison as he has previously spent three years behind bars as an under-trial.
Susairaj and Mathew were also slapped fines of Rs.50,000 and Rs.100,000 correspondingly, which will be given as compensation to the Grover family.
In one of the most horrible crimes of passion, Mathew stabbed Grover to death after he found him naked in Susairaj's bedroom early morning of May 7, 2008, at her apartment in Malad.

Ram Gopal Varma says, 'Not a Love Story' is not a biopic!

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma's next 'Not A Love Story' Firstlook
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma's next 'Not A Love Story' is inspired by the real story of the heinous murder of TV executive Neeraj Grover, but the director claims that it's not a biopic of Kannada actress Maria Susairaj, who has been convicted in the case.
'The film is not a biopic. It has been inspired by the incident but not based on that particular incident. The characters are imaginative and I wanted to show the state-of-mind or the emotion that might have driven them to do such a crime,' Verma said reporters at the first look of the movie here at Cinemax Versova.
Grover was stabbed to death by former Navy officer and Susairaj's boyfriend Emile Jerome in her flat. The actress was Thursday convicted of destroying evidence.
The tagline of the movie 'In the summer of 2008, two lovers killed a man, had sex in front of the body, cut it into pieces, packed it in a shopping bag and disposed it' -- is a relevant pointer to the original case.
The gory trailer of the movie shows how Mahie Gill and her fiance Deepak Dhobrial murder Ajay Gehi and burn his body pieces in a jungle.
'This is a story of two very ordinary people. The girl in the film is a very simple girl, the ones I meet regularly in course of my career. One fine morning, how these simple people can go completely bizarre and do such a terrible thing, which a normal person cannot imagine,' told Verma.

Kannada film industry actress Maria Susairaj was today awarded a maximum three years'' sentence while her boyfriend and former Navy officer Emile Jerome got a 10-year jail term in the brutal killing of Neeraj Grover, a day after they were absolved of murder charge.
Maria can walk free anytime and Jerome will have to be behind bars only for seven more years since they have already been in jail for three years during the trial.
She was convicted of demolishing evidence while Jerome was held guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder prompting angry reactions from the victim’s family and a section of the legal fraternity.
Sessions court Judge N W Chandwani yesterday acquitted the two of the charge of murder of the TV executive three years back and convicted of a lesser offence.
The sentence was well-defined after the judge heard arguments by the prosecution and defense on the quantum of punishment. The prosecution had sought a life sentence for Jerome.
In a gruesome crime, Neeraj was killed and his body hacked into several pieces and disposed off in a forest in neighboring Thane.
Neeraj's brokenhearted father Amarnath Grover described the sentence as an acquittal for Maria. "Why were Jerome and Maria given different sentences, when both were there when Neeraj was killed and his body brutally disposed of," he questioned.
Jerome was convicted on the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder under section 304 (part I) IPC which attracts life term in jail or imprisonment up to ten years. Both he and Maria were also found guilty of trying to destroy evidence under section 201 IPC which provides for a maximum three years in jail.
Both the accused had been charged by the prosecution with murder, criminal conspiracy, common objective and causing vanishing of evidence.
