I don't want myself to associate with anything and everything: Akshaye Khanna

Actor Akshaye Khanna tells it wasn't a conscious decision not to sign too many movies, adding that he can't think of associating himself with anything and everything.

"It's not that I avoid signing many films in a year but, yes, I don't want myself to associate with anything and everything," Akshaye, whose forthcoming movie "Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai" is releasing Friday.

" 'Gali Gali...' happened because the script attracted me and I didn't stop myself from giving the nod to the film. It was a spontaneous decision and now I can confidently admit that this role is so far my best role.  People from the lower middle class to high officials will relate to my character, who is a middle-class family man. This is what makes this role one of the benchmarks in my career," included the actor who was last seen in Farah Khan's directorial endeavor "Tees Maar Khan".

The theme of "Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai" is corruption in the Indian system. However, the actor claims there is hardly any scope for such illegal practices in filmdom.

"In today's time, there is no place where corruption is not prevalent, but I feel proud to be part of the industry where there is no scope for corruption. We wake up, go to work, finish it off and then come back...where is the time to think about shortcuts?" Akshaye told.

The film grabbed headlines when Anna Hazare, who has been pioneering the anti-corruption movement in the country, watched "Gali Gali..."

"Since I always keep a low profile and avoid getting into limelight, I feel fortunate enough in not being part of any corruption-related issue," he included.

In the movie, the problem of corruption is told through the eyes of bank cashier Bharat, played by Akshaye, who accidentally gets caught in the corrupt system and the more he tries to wriggle out, the deeper he sinks into it.

While Momukshu Mudgal has penned the story, Rumi Jafri has helmed the project, which also has Shriya Saran, Mugdha Godse, Satish Kaushik and Annu Kapoor who will be seen taking the story forward.

The 36-year-old has films like "Taal", "Border", "Dil Chahta Hai", "Hungama", "Hulchul", "Gandhi - My Father" and "Race" to his credit.

His next will be "Chand Bhai" with Vidya Balan.

Akshaye Khanna is immature for getting married!

As per the version of Bollywood actor Akshaye Knanna he is too young to get involved in a marital relationship. It is the time for him for hard work to make the future safe and secured. The actor tells wedding is for the old people and he is quite happy with his single status now. He is contented with whatever he got it this moment while he gave a short smile and told what he wants is simply good number of jobs and also to be in a good and steady health.

The Bollywood business says profession wise he is a back bencher in B-Town as per the earlier years’ statistics and he is bit offended on the filmmakers on this issue.

During the conversation, he also narrated about his present role in the on-going film where he is a simple common person whose life became haphazard and he lost everything. The plot is based on a movement against anti-corruption. Incidentally, he took the name of Annaji and told about his good spirit.

According to him, all the people should support Annaji for his movement. This cannot be a just an one-man show. Coming back to his film factor, he said it would be a good entertaining film where a good comedy part is also included. How long he could be single? On this question, he said in a funny mood until the God wishes. He personally feels, it is only the act of God that provides a man a good home and family.

Akshaye Khanna to start shooting in 'Gali Gali...'

Akshaye Khanna starrer 'Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai', a satirical take on the condition of the common man today, is set to go on floors Friday in Bhopal.

Produced by Nitin Manmohan under the banner One Up Entertainmnet Pvt Ltd, the film will be shot extensively in old Bhopal in a start to finish schedule, said a statement from the production house.

The story revolves around Akshaye, a cashier in a bank, and his character shows a common man's dilemma. In the film, his woes range from lack of time to lack of money to lack of connectivity and lack of will to find a way out through bribing.

The film will be helmed by Rumy Jafry and also stars Shriya Saran, Mughda Godse along with Annu Kapoor, Satish Kaushik, Akhilendra Mishra, Vijay Raaz, Ashok Samarth and Rajpal Yadav.
