Vidya Balan's tribute to the cult Indian detective Karamchand!







Vidya Balan, plays the role of a lively detective in her forthcoming movie Bobby Jasoos. The multitalented actress has donned a variety of disguises in the movie which will definitely be a delight to watch. According to Vidya, her character is a tribute to the cult Indian detective Karamchand, which was played by veteran actor Pankaj Kapur.

Karamchand was the most popular Indian detective show which aired in the 1980s and also has the distinction of being the first of its kind. During a workshop for the movie, Vidya even acted like Karamchand and was tempted to call Bobby Karamchand's offspring. In the movie, there's a dialogue which pays tribute to Karamchand and his assistant Kitty. Vidya recently met Pankaj Kapur at his birthday party hosted by wife Supriya Pathak.

Bobby Jasoos, slated to release on July 4, is set in Hyderabad and shows Vidya speaking Hyderabadi language effortlessly. Directed by Samar Shaikh, the movie also features Ali Fazal, Supriya, Tanvi Azmi among others.
