As the year comes to an end, many look forward to the a variety of award
functions that will be coming up to appreciate the best of talents in this year.
Wait! Not only the best but also the worst will be receiving the awards.
Yes! The Golden Kela Awards, which recognizes the best of the worst in Hindi
cinema, is the Indian version of the Golden Raspberry Awards. This year will
mark the 5th edition of the awards. The winners are decided by audience vote.
Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan’s much hyped movies
Dabangg 2 and Jab Tak Hai Jaan will be competing for the worst movie trophy.
The other movies that will be nominated in the same category include
Housefull 2, Son of Sardaar, Khiladi 786 and Joker.
Akshay Kumar comes
on top in the worst actor (male) category with his four releases – Housefull 2,
Rowdy Rathore, Joker and Khiladi 786.
Ajay Devgn is also a part of this
list with two nominations for Son of Sardaar and Bol Bachchan, Imran Khan for Ek
Main Aur Ekk Tu, Sanjay Dutt for his villainous role in Agneepath and Siddharth
Malhotra and Varun Dhawan for their debut Student Of The Year.
The
Bollywood beauties are not to be left behind! Anushka Sharma (JTHJ), Sonakshi
Sinha (for everything she did) and Deepika Padukone (Cocktail) have been
nominated for for worst actor (female) Golden Kela Award 2012. They also have
some fight from newcomers – Farha Khan for Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi, Alia
Bhatt for Student Of The Year and Diana Penty for Cocktail.
This year
was the year of sequels with 8 sequels being released. Dabangg 2 is visibly the
newest entrant into the category.
The 5th edition of the awards, also
features awards categories like ‘Most Irritating Song’, ‘Most atrocious lyrics’,
‘Baawra ho gaya hai ke award‘, ‘Why are you still trying?’ award among many
others.
“We could not help but nominate the ‘Indian Moviegoers’ in the
‘Bawara ho gaya hai ke award’ category for spending more than 600 crores on Bol
Bachchan, Housefull 2, Agneepath, Rowdy Rathore and Ek Tha Tiger (we’ll keep
adding the crores as figures keep coming in for Khiladi 786 and Dabangg 2),”
said Jatin Varma, Founder, Golden Kela Awards.
The Golden Kela Awards
have come up with a new category Anti Kela Awards, which will be announced
shortly. Anti-Kela awards are given to the movies that were meaningful and
entertaining, while still being in the mainstream.
