Hockey legend Dhyan Chand’s biopic gets SRK in a lead!

Hockey legend Dhyan Chand
Hockey legend Dhyan Chand’s biopic will feature Shahrukh Khan playing the leading character. The actor won accolades for his portrayal of an inspirational hockey coach in Chak De! India. Now, if all goes well, SRK might make a come back as a hockey player in debutant director Rohit Vaid’s untitled film.
Ila Bedi Dutta is presently working on the film’s script and will complete it by end of this year. She has also discussed the script with the actor and is positive about getting him on board.
“I recently met Shah Rukh to discuss the project. To us, he is the ideal choice for Dhyan Chand. Though we haven’t heard from him yet, we expect him to sign the dotted line,” Ila said.
The right of the movie making has already been purchased by producer Pooja Shetty from Dhyan Chand’s son Ashok Chand. However, getting Ashok’s nod was not an easy task. Rohit Vaid, a school friend of SRK is most likely to debut as the film’s director.
“It’s quite obvious that we’ll approach Shah Rukh because of his inclination towards hockey during his early days and of course, his Chak De persona,” tells Rohit.
Dhyan Chand was magical on the hockey field, having won three Olympic gold medals (1928, 1932, and 1936). He was known as “The Wizard” for his superb ball control and scored over 1,000 goals in his career from 1926 to 1948.
