After the critically acclaimed ‘Rockstar’, the popularity of Ranbir Kapoor has soared and he seems to be surrounded by directors and producers making a beeline for him. Ranbir, however is now in a position where he can afford to choose what movies he wants to do and which directors he wants to work with.
Accordingly, the vivacious director Subhash Ghai was in for an unpleasant shock, when Ranbir reportedly declined to be a part of Ghai’s upcoming movie. Ghai apparently was very keen that Ranbir should do the movie and was even prepared to wait or adjust schedules as per Ranbir’s ease. Infact he actually even went the extra mile and got in touch with Ranbir’s dad, Rishi Kapoor, through whom he wanted to try and convince Ranbir for agreeing to do the movie.
It was all in vain however as Ranbir politely expressed regret and rejected Ghai’s offer. Owing to the fact that Ranbir is currently committed to 3 projects, it was not possible to give dates to Ghai for approximately another year.
Ghai, it seems, has moved on and is now reportedly looking to sign in Imran Khan for the role. Nothing has been crystal-clear yet.
