Sonakshi imitates Sridevi, Parveen for disco song!

Tight leather pants and shiny dresses - the 1980s era saw it all. Now, new age actress Sonakshi Sinha is taking cue from actresses like Sridevi and Parveen Babi for a retro disco number that she has shot for the "Himmatwala" remake.

The number, choreographed by Chinni Prakash, is called "Thank god it's Friday".

The film's director, Sajid Khan, wanted to give Sonakshi the look of Sridevi and Parveen Babi. He roped in designer Manish Malhotra and Sonakshi, who admits working hard for the song, is happy with the result.

The first look launch of Ajay Devgn-Tamannaah starrer at Himmatwala!

Himmatwala is an forthcoming Bollywood action romance movie directed by Sajid Khan and jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Vashu Bhagnani.

The movie features superstar Ajay Devgn opposite Tamannaah in the lead roles. It is an authorized remake of the 1983 blockbuster of the same name which itself was a remake of a Telugu movie Ooriki Monagadu of 1981. The first promo of the film released online on 24 January.

‘Himmatwala’, a Sajid Khan’s movie starring Ajay devgn and southern beauty Tamanna Bhatia, will see six item girls grooving with Ajay for a dance number. All the item heroines are fresh faces, coming from six different movie industries across the country.

An insider discloses, “Ajay will be seen shaking a leg with Sayantani Ghosh (Bengali actor), Rinku Ghosh (Bhojpuri star), Amruta Khanvilkar (Marathi actor), Mona Thiba (Gujarati actor), Surveen Chawla (from the Punjabi film industry) and Tamanna Bhatia (south Indian superstar).”

The filmmaker actually is keen on representing all the film industries in one item song, thus give in the track a pan-India touch. If buzz is to be believed, the ladies will be dressed in traditional garb, representing their states for the song.

Talking about the beauties, Sayantani Ghosh is a popular face on TV and is seen in a couple of dance track, in Bengali movies. She is also a participant on the new season of Bigg Boss. Surveen Chawla, a very popular host for many reality shows, has also done a few Punjabi movies.

Rinku Ghosh has a couple of raunchy tracks to her credit and is a popular Bhojpuri actress. Mona Thiba, another hit face in the Gujarati community, has even done a few Hindi and Bhojpuri films. Amruta Khanvilkar, the Marathi mulgi is the winner of a reality show. She is seen in movies like Phoonk and Phoonk 2.

Sajid Khan is confident about 'Himmatwala' will cross Rs.100 crore!

Filmmaker Sajid Khan is sure his movie "Himmatwala", based on the 1983 movie of the same name, will cross Rs.100 crore within its first week itself. He tells he can never make a flop film.

"I can't say I am a great director but I am the greatest audience, since childhood I have done nothing other than watching films. Cinema is my life. I can never make a flop film because I make film for audience and not for myself," Sajid told during the sound recording of "Himmatwala" here.

Sajid, who has previously directed "Heyy Babyy", "Housefull" and "Housefull 2: The Dirty Dozen", added: "I will never let down the audience. I have proved that three times. Now I will do that again. My film 'Himmatwala' will cross Rs.100 crore in first week."

Actor Ajay Devgn, who plays the lead in the movie, is impressed with Sajid's positive attitude.

"I like that attitude. It is a kind of confidence which you should have and he has. He is sure of what he is doing. After I heard the script, I agreed with him and it will be a fabulous film," Ajay told.

The movie is an adaptation of the 1983 movie, which featured Jeetendra and Sridevi.
