Sharman Joshi and Meera Chopra will shoot for '1920 London'!

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has titled the third installment of "1920" as "1920 London" and he is likely to begin shooting for the film with Sharman Joshi and Meera Chopra in August.

"The third installment will soon go on floors in August. Sharman and Meera will play the lead in the film and it is titled '1920 London'," a source close to the filmmaker disclosed.

"1920 London", produced by ASA Production, will be shot completely in London.

Now Sharman Joshi and Vidhu Vinod Chopra are not together!

According to the actor who has been part of two of Chopra's productions, 3 Idiots in 2009 and last year's Ferrari Ki Sawari, is no longer a Chopra staple.

He is not an outsider to filmdom, considering his father-in-law is veteran artist Prem Chopra and his sister Mansi Joshi is an actress and is married to actor-filmmaker Rohit Roy. But Sharman Joshi tells connections don't work in showbiz and everyone has to prove his or her guts to get recognition.

"You are at the mercy of people. No connections really help here (filmdom). You have to prove yourself. No one can fight the battle for you. It has been a lonely journey," Sharman Joshi said.

After having been part of the industry for 13 years and having worked in 19 films, Sharman tells there is no particular formula to succeed in showbiz.

"There are no rules for the success of any film and that's the beauty of cinema and art," he told, adding that there are no norms "as long as you are convinced about the script".

Though he proved his mettle in films like "Life... In A Metro", "Rang De Basanti", "Golmaal" and "Three Idiots", all these films had an ensemble cast.

For the first time, the responsibility of carrying a film on his shoulders alone came with "Ferrari Ki Sawari". If the film's subject was typical, there was no female lead either. Besides, t it was Rajesh Mapuskar's first directorial project.

The only frill attached to the film was Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who produced it.

But Sharman has triumphed at the box office as the Rs.10 crore films earned about Rs.14 crore in the first three days after its release and is managing to keep the cash registers ringing. Audiences liked his performance, the concept and the presentation.

Overwhelmed with encouraging response, the 33-year-old says that people within the industry too reacted optimistically.

"The industry has responded exceptionally well. From Mr. Amitabh Bachchan to Sanjay Dutt to Anil Kapoor - they have really liked the film. I have got a wonderful response so far and it's a wonderful feeling," Sharman told.

"After the success of 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' all I can say is that I want to do more good quality cinema."

Right now, mainstream big budget "Rowdy Rathore", which stars Akshay Kumar, has done good business by crossing the Rs.100 crore mark and an upbeat Sharman says all kinds of movies are important for an actor and for the industry.

"All kinds of films are important and it is up to you what choice you make. Even I have been part of an entertaining film, but it has to have some sense. Going back to my past, I did 'Style' and 'Golmaal' and I enjoyed being part of them," he told.

Appreciating the creative changes in filmdom, he told, "I feel that the Hindi film industry has evolved over the years. All kinds of cinema is being accepted in today's date. A lot of small budget films are doing well."

Actor Sharman Joshi, whose first solo hero movie "Ferrari Ki Sawaari" opened to good reviews, is humbled by the praise being showered upon his movie by the viewers.

"I am feeling too happy. We are very, very thankful to the people for their love. We are very humbled by the love and affection they are showing. Thank you very much," the 33-year-old told here at an event.

"In Bombay and in the whole country, every show is earning a huge collection and we are expecting Rs.25 crore in the first week and it's only going to grow bigger and stronger," he further added.

Released Friday, "Ferrari Ki Sawaari" has been produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and is directed by debutant director Rajesh Mapuskar. It also stars Boman Irani.

Boman is all praise for the actor and wants filmmakers to make good use of his talent.

"I would only say that after '3 Idiots', Sharman is like a family member in the Chopra camp. Sharman is a fantastic actor and it would be so unfair of our directors and producers if they don't use a talent like Sharman in our films," he told.

"I am so happy that Sharman got this role and he essayed it so fantastically. And I feel good that such a good actor is with us," he added.

Sharman Joshi, known for his comical acts, was scared when a reality show contestant presented a naagin dance for him.

Contestants of UTV Stars' "The Chosen One" were given a task to enact scenes, and a girl named Karishma had to don the role of a naagin (a snake).

Karishma's 'naagin' dance turned out to be quite a ride for the "Ferrari Ki Sawaari" actor. So much so that he had to beg the contestant to end the act.

Actors often take on diction lessons and special workshops to perfect their characters, but Sharman Joshi, who plays a single parent to a 10-year-old child in his forthcoming movie "Ferrari Ki Sawaari", learnt to make and toss egg-omelette.

According to a source, Sharman had to do each domestic task for his home which also included cooking breakfast for the family for a scene in the movie.

The shoot demanded him to make an egg-omelette and flip it over multiple times. Alas, Sharman didn't even know how to break an egg for starters.

To give his 100 percent to the shoot, he made it a point to practice cooking egg-omelette at least twice a day. He practiced for five days and learnt the art of breaking eggs evenly, cooking them and also flipping the omelette.

He became so perfect that he completed the shot in one take.

"Ferrari Ki Sawaari", produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, will hit screens June 15.

Aamir, Sharman, Raju Hirani unite again ‘Pee Kay’

Raj Kumar Hirani after the astonishing success of ’3 idiots’ has not made a movie still, which is actually quite unexpected given what 3 idiots actually did at the Box Office and at all award functions. But we know the perfectionist that Raju is, and he would not settle for anything less than perfect. Ditto is the case with Aamir, and these two perfectionists are once again going to join hands together for Vidhu Vinod Chopra Productions’ ‘Pee Kay’. Sharman Joshi is also going to get a key role in the film alongside Aamir.

Although the movie is going to hit the floors in mid-2012, while Aamir finishes his projects with Reema Katgi and Dhoom 3. Raju meanwhile is going to go ahead and exercise the megaphone for the much anticipated 3rd film of the Munna bhai franchise – ‘Munna Bhai Chale Amerika’.

Going by the title, it wouldn’t be wrong to guess that ‘Pee’ and ‘Kay’ could be the names of the two male leads of the film.

Now Aamir Khan will be Munna bhai, friend of Circuit!

Here’s some terrible news for all the Munna Bhai fans. If news is to be whispered, Sanjay Dutt-Arshad Warsi aka Munna bhai-Circuit jodi is being swapped by Aamir Khan and Sharman Joshi…

According to a close source, “The idea of casting Aamir and Sharman came up during the shoot of 3 Idiots. Hirani felt that a new pair would bring in a fresh breath of air into the movie. Aamir and Sharman have astonishing comic timing and also great chemistry onscreen. You can see that even in their first film together, Rang De Basanti. When he shared the idea with Aamir, he loved it. He said Rajkumar that he would be game for it if the script was interesting.”

Though the teaser of the third – ‘Munnabhai Chale Amrika’, with Sanju and Arshad, is previously up, doing the rounds in the web world, the lack of a good script is keeping the project on hold.

We doubt how Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi have reacted on this news; after all they did bring the chemistry to life!
