Oprah Winfrey’s fresh remark about Indians still eating with their hands hasn’t gone down to well with the Indians.

The queen of talk shows was in India, to shoot a special India episode for her ‘Oprah’s next chapter’ earlier this year which was aired only just.

Her statement “I heard some Indian people eat with their hands still?” has received a very very negative response from the Indians and also called her conceited.

Oprah’s comment also offended Indian author Shobhaa de who got mighty pissed with her and posted, “Oprah’s last chapter! thats what angry Indians are calling the much hyped but ridiculously shabby show. Oprah has lost her groove. Honey pack up!”

Oprah plans to take Ash’s gift with her back to the USA

Oprah Winfrey looked utterly gorgeous draped in a colorful sari, on Monday. And as reported previously, the beautiful sari was gifted to her by the beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

As soon as Oprah landed in India, she rushed to the Bachchan parivaar, to visit Abhi-Ash’s new born, Beti B. In the evening, Oprah along with the Ash, Abhi and Big B, went to Parmeshwar Godrej’s party, hosted for Oprah.

At the do, Oprah wore a Tarun Tahiliani sari, gifted by Ash. The international talk show queen loved the Indian attire so much that she plans to take it with her back to the USA.

Oprah Winfrey and Aishwarya Rai share a thick bond of friendship. Ash also appeared on Oprah’s chat show twice.

The talk show queen described Beti B as a ‘princess’.

But, the wait for the little one’s name still continues.

Oprah Winfrey is in India and is very eager on paying a visit to the Bachchan parivaar. Well, the international talk show queen wants to meet Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s two-month-old daughter, Beti B.

A source reveals, “She has landed here and the first thing she wants to do is meet Ash and her baby…So, she will be visiting them in ‘Jalsa’ before she heads for the party.”

Aishwarya Rai even gifted Oprah a sari which she wore for the party.

“The gracious Oprah Winfrey visits our home, to meet us and bless the baby..warm hearted, endearing .. drive her to party in her honor. And Oprah in sari .. looking lovely !!” Amitabh Bachchan later posted on his blog.

To honour Winfrey, socialite Parmeshwar Godrej threw a party on Monday night and to the bash was spotted a lot of well-known figures and celebrities.

The Godrej party turned out to be an enjoyable one, for after it Oprah Winfrey posted: “@FarahKhanAli was so great meeting you and all the beautiful Bollywooders. Directors, poets, screenwriters, what a nite!”

Shobhaa De and actress Sameera Reddy were a few among the guests.

Talk-show queen Oprah Winfrey is coming to India next week and has expressed desire to meet Bollywood couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, whom she hosted on her popular talk show, and the junior B has confirmed the news.

'Oprah is coming here to shoot a documentary and she has expressed a desire to meet,' the 35-year-old actor told.

Aishwarya made her maiden appearance on the 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' in 2005, the year in which she featured in an Indo-British production venture 'Mistress Of Spices'. In 2009, she was invited with her spouse Abhishek to the show and in the same year Ash featured in 'The Pink Panther 2'.

Abhishek is looking forward to meeting Winfrey.

'She is always very respectful and very loving towards both of us and it'll be wonderful to meet her,' told Abhishek who’s newest film 'Players' received mixed reviews at the box office.

Buzz is that the Bachchan clan is planning to host a private dinner for Winfrey.

This is Winfrey's first visit to India and she is also anticipated to attend the Jaipur Literature Festival scheduled for later this month.

The visit is largely a part of her new show 'Next Chapter', which will see Winfrey traveling around the world and interviewing celebrities. Reportedly, she is planning to interview Indian spiritual guru Deepak Chopra for her new show.
