1911’ is a combination of "Lagaan" and "Chak De! India", says John!

John Abraham's "1911", a movie on football, is set to go on floors in October, and the actor describes it as a combination of "Lagaan" and "Chak De! India".

"We are very excited about it going on floors," told John.

"We are doing a lot of research on the film. It's a true story. For people, who want to understand what kind of a film it is, it is like 'Lagaan' meeting 'Chak De! (India)'. I would hope and say that it's even better," the 41-year-old told here during an endorsement shoot for the Hockey India League team Delhi Waveriders.

"1911" is based on both the popular football clubs Mohun Bagan and East Bengal.

"More than just Mohun Bagan, I like both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. I think it's important to share with people that it's not just on Mohun Bagan, it's a film on football. It's a film that I am producing and Shoojit Sircar in directing, it's called '1911.' It is starting this October," told John, who had previously featured in football based drama "Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal".

While "Lagaan" was a period drama set in pre-independent India revolving around the sport of cricket, "Chak De! India" was about the women's hockey team.

When asked which sports movie he feels is the best, John told, "I think the best film based on sports will be '1911'."

John Abraham wants to play Hockey with his team!

Actor-producer John Abraham, who has bought a stake in the Hockey India League team Delhi Waveriders, tells he determined to become a co-owner as he wanted to be more than just a face and contribute to important team decisions.

"Being just an actor and endorsing the team would mean just sitting in the dugout or probably in the stand wearing dark glasses or dancing to an item song. That's exactly I didn't want to do. I wanted to practice and play with the team, decide the strategy and pick players," the 41-year-old told here during the promo shoot of the team.

"The WAVE group approached me and said they want me to be a part of the Hockey India League and endorse the Delhi Waveriders. We both came to a conclusion that I need to co-own the team to run it and do more than just being a face," he further added.

John is also producing a movie on football titled "1911" which revolves around two popular football clubs Mohun Bagan and East Bengal.

The movie will be directed by Shoojit Sircar and goes on floors in October this year.

John Abraham loses weight for 'Madras Cafe'!

Actor-producer John Abraham, who is known for his perfect body, had to shed weight for his upcoming movie "Madras Cafe".

The movie is a political-thriller and has been directed by Shoojit Sircar. The story deals with terrorism and civil war and was reportedly shot in Sri Lanka and India.

"I had asked John to lose weight for this film and he did that. If he stands in a crowd he should not stand out he should look like one of them as he is not hero in the film. Heroism of the film is the content and not John," Sircar said.

"You will see a new John in this film," he further added.

Sircar, who has worked with John in his earlier project "Vicky Donor", tells that they now share a great relationship.

"Now we are good friends its a good relationship. We are planning for few more films together. We want to take this relationship ahead he never interferes in my work and its vise versa. I don't know marketing so he takes care of it," he told.

"Madras Cafe" is slated to release August 23.

John Abraham voted as the sexiest man alive!

People magazine has voted John Abraham as the Sexiest Man Alive. According to John having a hot body doesn’t make one sexy.

At the unveiling of the latest edition of People magazine, John said the media, “I think it’s (being sexy) is past the body now. If you talk about being sexy and look worldwide, you have George Clooney at 50 who’s the sexiest man alive. I think sexiness is also a quotient of success, but according to me more than that is intelligence. Because every person’s physical appeal only lasts a while, but in the long run the mind matters,” said John Abraham at the event.

So how was this news received by John’s ladylove Priya Runchal??

Priya while talking to John, told, ‘Are you serious they gave it to you this year? You should have been getting it every year!’ I think that’s the best compliment I got.”

John broke up his nine-year-long relationship with Bipasha Basu in 2011. We also hear that the actor had freshly snubbed Bipasha.

At an event, John was asked if he would ever work with Bipasha, to which he answered, “I haven’t thought about working with her and it’s not even on my mind,”

The actor will next be seen in Race 2.

John Abraham is annoyed with false news spread about him that he has asked the makers of the film "Shootout at Wadala" to drop his ex-girlfriend Bipasha Basu from the film. The film is made by Sanjay Gupta and is based on gangsters. Ever since, the duo have split up John maintained a dignified silence and refrained from passing any comments about his relationship with Bipasha.

But this current allegation thrown at him, John has lost his cool and opened his mouth finally. John being a professional moved on after the break-up and concentrated on his career while he is dating Priya Runchal. Bitterness has no place in John’s life and he wished Bipasha all the best for life. John and Bipasha walked off from the relationship though the reasons are not yet known to anybody. John is not interested in sharing his personal life with media. At a recent interview, Bipasha indirectly mentioned that John had cheated her in the relationship; however the handsome hunk chose to remain mum over the issue too.

Now with this allegation, John is certainly not in a happy mood anymore. Sanjay Gupta recently commented that neither he nor Ekta Kapoor ever told to anyone that Bipasha is a part of the movie, so how come she gets dropped out of the movie when she was never a part of the film!

Sylvester Stallone's muscular body to inspire John for gym workouts!

John Abraham

Sylvester Stallone

As a school student, John Abraham always involved himself in varied sports and remained fit. But it was Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone's beefy look in action film "Rocky IV" which pushed the Indian actor to take on regular workouts in a gym for the muscular body that he now flaunts unabashedly.

"I was always a lot into sports. In school, I used to run races, relays, indulge in shotput, javelin... I was also the football captain. So I have always been fit, the sporting fit. But when I was in college, I saw (Sylvester) Stallone in 'Rocky IV' and I was like 'My god, this guy looks amazing.' That's when I decided I need to go to the gym. That's when I started to work out to look visually right," John said.

The 39-year-old is among the few Bollywood actors who sport the perfectly chiseled body, but John aspires for a more perfect one.

"I don't mean to sound modest but I am not 100 per cent there. I am just 60 to 70 per cent there. I have to still do at least 40 per cent more to be in that amazing fit and shape that I want. There's still a year for that," he further added.

In India, he feels it is actors like Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan, who have popularized the concept of gyms and proper workout.

"I think it’s important to be fit, and all credit to Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan for creating that movement amongst the youth in India to go to the gym. They deserve more credit than anyone else, including myself, but I think it is important to look at one's body in a holistic way, and to understand that one needs to have a disciplined lifestyle to have a good body," told John, who has successfully stepped into movie production with "Vicky Donor".

John spoke on the sidelines of a launch event for Philips Bodygroom, a new product aimed at men who like to keep a neatly trimmed chest, back, shoulders and more. The actor sported a smooth look in the 2008 film "Dostana", and he makes no bones about the fact that it's good to be clean!

"Cinema is a visual medium. A lot of the audience enjoys watching your face. But you can't ignore the body. It's very important to take care of your body and pretty much be in shape and be clean all the time," he told.

John Abraham
'I, Me Aur Main' is a perfect break for me to change people's perceptions about me," tells Prachi Desai who will be seen playing her age in the movie. She adds that usually she has been offered roles older than her age.
“It is such a bubbly role. I don't think people have normally seen me like that. The film is a perfect opportunity for me to change people's perceptions about me," she told.
Directed by debutant Kapil Sharma, John will be seen romancing five girls in "I, Me Aur Main". Prachi is one of them.
She told, " 'I, Me Aur Main' is a modern film. I play a girl who is very young. She just comes into John's life and changes everything around him."
The young actress started her career as the lead in TV show "Kasamh Se", feels that the industry had a set perception about her and that nobody wanted to try her for new roles. According to her, she was always offered roles older to her.
"The reason for being offered roles much older than me was because that is the kind of role I had done on television. So, I guess, people wanted to stick to that. Nobody wanted to experiment with me. They just wanted to capitalise with what they had seen me as," told the actress.
The 25-year-old made her big screen debut with "Rock On!" and later featured in "Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai", "Life Partner" and lately released "Teri Meri Kahaani".
Her next is Rohit Shetty's "Bol Bachchan". Releasing July 6, the movie, which has Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles, is her first comedy and she is thrilled about it.

John Abraham has a successful acting career. Also he was a supermodel. And freshly he proved to be a successful film producer too with “Vicky Donor”. The movie received warm response from the viewers and was a box office success. When he split-up with his long-time girl friend Bipasha Basu, media got crazy about it, and the news remained in the headlines for a long time.
However John Abraham determined to keep his lips sealed about the issue, and started dating Priya Runchal. And freshly he has declared he is going to marry Priya Runchal. When he was asked by the media about the date of wedding, he replied he is certain he wants to get married, but he needs to choose the right date and time for it. But it’s important to plan one’s future correctly, so he will need some more time to decide on the date. It’s a special occasion in one’s life, and the decision is to be taken by both.
The hot hunk also told the media that his wedding with Priya will be a brief unpublicized affair. There will be no grand ceremonies for his wedding. He clearly told the big fat wedding of Bollywood does not suit his family, so the ceremony will be at his place with a few friends and family members.

John Abraham's naked body is not obscene, says court!

Bollywood actor John Abraham's photo published in a daily in June 2009 is not obscene; a Delhi court has ruled and rejected a plea for issuing summons against him.
Additional Sessions Judge Rajneesh Kumar Gupta Monday ruled that the picture of Abraham published in a daily June 11, 2009, was aimed at giving information on Bollywood.
The court dismissed the plea of Chander Mohan Dua, a resident of Kirti Nagar in west Delhi, that the photo of the actor's naked upper body was obscene and vulgar.
Dua in his plea asked the court to issue summons against Abraham and the editor and the publisher of the daily.
"After going through the photograph of John Abraham and the contents of the news item, I am of the opinion that the picture is not obscene," told the court.
The court did not find any infirmity or illegality in a magistrate court's order which rejected Dua's plea earlier.

John calls me Guruji: Akshay Kumar

John Abraham, Akshay Kumar
We had reported to you earlier that John Abraham gifted his buddy Akshay Kumar with a high-end motorbike, since their last release ( HouseFull 2) together, was a success.
On receiving the bike, the emotional Akki in return, penned a sweet, heart touching note for John.
Akshay posted, “Johnny Donor’ is riding such a high wave right now, that he is thankfully not Donating his sperm but Donating an awesome bike to me in celebration of our huge Hit ‘HouseFull 2’… I can count on one hand how many genuine gifts I’ve been given since my time in this Industry. John’s, I must say, means a lot; not because it’s a Bike (though it helps) but because I know how much it means to him giving it to me.”
“It’s not exactly common to find two such Actors that have the kind of care & respect that both John & I share, it’s no secret that Actors find it hard to see eye to eye. Why he calls me Guruji I’ll never know, why I feel so protective & brotherly towards him he’ll never know. I’m glad you’re here, I’m proud of your struggles & what you’ve achieved, & I’m touched by your kindness today & always… I wish you a lifetime of happiness & a family of your own that loves you more than you have ever loved your Bikes (and we all know that’s a lot of Love ;o)”
