Being ambitious puts pressure on relationships, says Chitrangada Singh!

Actress Chitrangada Singh, who is in the film industry for the past eight years, feels a person's ambition does impact his or her relationships.

However, the actress tells one has to make adjustments and compromises to deal with it.

"Everybody is so career-oriented, everybody is going through their own pressures. Not just in Bollywood, I think it's everywhere. You have people working, getting ambitious, wanting so much more in life, then you have to make your adjustments and compromises," Chitrangada said journalists here at an event.

"So it does have a pressure on your relationships. Being ambitious is like a fad and that brings with it so much more that you have to handle," further added the actress, who is wedded to golfer Jyoti Randhawa.

How do you manage your personal and professional life?

"I don't have any mantras. I just try and do my best. It's never a perfect day. I don't think I always do a great job. I just try like everybody else," Chitrangada answered.

"I think a poor memory is a good idea," she further added.

Chitrangada wants emotional satisfaction in relationships!

Actress Chitrangada Singh, who is married to golfer Jyoti Singh Randhawa, tells being emotionally satisfied in a relationship is extremely important to her - just as it is for her on-screen character Anushka in forthcoming movie "I, Me aur Main".

"Anushka is very similar to me because even when Kapil Sharma, who is a first-time director, narrated the script to me, he also told, 'Think of her (Anushka) as similar to yourself. I know from outside you are very composed and in control'," the 36-year-old told here in an interview.

Chitrangada Singh’s intense role of sexually harassed woman!

Chitrangada Singh was last seen in Desi Boyz, but the long wait for the actress is finally over. The hot actress is at last looking to an exciting 2013. Her forthcoming movie Inkaar will showcase intense side of hers where she would be locking horns with Arjun Rampal.

“Yes, this has turned out to be a really intense film for her since it deals with sexual harassment at workplace,” says a close associate of the actress, “If Chitrangada Singh’s characterisation itself is quite tough to begin with, what makes it further challenging is the fact that Sudhir Mishra doesn’t settle for anything less than excellent. It is anyways so tough to be working with him since he is quite a taskmaster. Add to that a subject like this and you know he would be driving you really hard. Of course when you see the end results, they turn out to be immensely satisfying.”

While earlier there were rumors around the film being titled POWER PLAY, the final title is INKAAR and it promises to bring sexual harassment out of the closet and that too in a mainstream movie.

A source told, “The film features Arjun Rampal as a corporate bigwig who mentors a newbie (Chitrangada), only to sexually harass her. Thoroughly disgusted by this behavior, she takes matters to the higher authorities and charges him in the case of harassment.”

However, looking at the poster we think that Chitrangada too is having some fun with Rampal. We’ll have to wait and watch as to what happens when the movie releases on 18th January.

A commercial film is mostly like a fairy-tale, says Chitrangada Singh

Chitrangda Singh had debuted in Bollywood with an off-beat film by Sudhir Mishra titled "Hazaroon Khwaishein Aisi" but soon after she drifted into the mainstream commercial film stream. She says the performance in both types of films differs a lot, in off-beat films, one should think of the story, but in commercial film, it’s like a fairy-tale story. She does not mind doing off-beat or commercial movies, but she wants to do only good movies. The role of Vidya Balan in "Kahaani" is one of Chitra's favourites.

Now off late she has transformed herself into an item girl, but Chitrangada says it was not easy for her, as there were hundreds of people, and the dancing stage was rather big.

Chitrangada tells one needs to forget the drawbacks and just give in the best. Item number transforms an actress from an ordinary woman to a glamorous lady. She learnt a lot from the experience she gathered doing the item number "Kaafiraana" in "Joker" film. She also sung the song "I want Fakta You" which created quite a ruckus due to the lyrics, and therefore the song was changed to "I want just you". She is working for Sudhir Mishra's film "Inkaar" as well as "I,Me Aur Main".

You can't do a Madhuri, you can only try: Chitrangda Singh

Chitrangada Singh, Madhuri Dixit,

Actress Chitrangada Singh, who has been part of off-beat cinema, has done her first item number for Shirish Kunder's "Joker" and tells it is inspired by Madhuri Dixit's number from "Sailaab". But she feels you can't do a Madhuri, you can only try.
"When Farah Khan offered me the song I asked her what's the song all about? What was the concept? What kind of look will I have? She told me it will be similar to Madhuri's look in 'Sailaab'. She told we will try and get the same look like Madhuri," Chitrangada said journalists.
"But that is Madhuri, you can't do a Madhuri, you can only try and do Madhuri, so we have tried to do something like that. We had fun doing that," she further added.
While "Hum ko aaj kal hai' from "Sailaab" was choreographed by Saroj Khan, this has been choreographed by Farah. Chitrangada didn't have much time to rehearse for the song.
"Hair style, clothes are somewhat similar to 'Sailaab'. I had a great time dancing. Unfortunately, I didn't get much time to rehearse. But whatever time I got, I used to keep rehearsing. We did as much as we could... it is beautifully choreographed by Farah and it is a very very good song," she told.
Talking about Sudhir Mishra's "Kaam" with Arjun Rampal, she told, "We finished shooting for 'Kaam'. It is a different love story and is set against the backdrop of sexual exploitation. The movie is set in an ad agency. It is about what happens when you are working together. There is a case of sexual harassment."
