Rumor is coming in that Kangna Ranaut may not reprise her well-known
role – that of the loud and cheery Tanu – in the Tanu Weds Manu sequel. It
seems that, Kangna made director Aanand L Rai wait for too long, irking the
filmmaker and leaving him with little choice but to replace her with
Heropanti’s Kriti Sanon. Knowing Kangna’s availability, the makers had planned
their first schedule in Lucknow in
January which got pushed to June because Kangna suddenly took off to the US
for a two-month course in scriptwriting. Fascinatingly, Kangna’s was a double
role in Tanu Weds Manu 2.
When questioned, Aanand laughed off the whole thing as gossip:
“If this rumour can make for an interesting read then do write it. But that’s
not the truth.” The movie, Aanand tells, is going on floors in October.
The problem is, can Kriti Sanon pull off a character that
Kangna made so much her own?
