Is cold war on between Aishwarya Rai and mom-in-law Jaya Bachchan?

The Bachchan family is not only a brand but also well known for being successful on both their professional and personal fronts.

The Bachchan family members – Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, his vastly talented wife (probably the most talented member of the family) Jaya, their son Abhishek and his more popular and successful wife Aishwarya Rai – are generally seen together as a happy family in the public.

There has been no sound of conflict since Aishwarya Rai became Aishwarya Bachchan.

But the rosy days seem to have ended and there is supposedly trouble brewing in the Bachchan camp and it involves the women of the house! Not so surprising, eh?

According to our source, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai has managed to rub her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan the wrong way by gushing over the growth witnessed by the state of Guajarat in the past years under Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Now you may wonder why that should bother Jaya Bachchan?

For the novices here, Jaya is a member of a political party in India, Samajwadi Party (SP) and Modi happens to be a member of a rival party – BJP. Gujarat lately went to polls and the two parties are fighting against each other.

It’s clear that if a political leader’s close family member is seen lauding the achievements of an opponent leader in public and endorsing his achievements, it will be an embarrassment for the leader – Jaya, in this case.

But, the other matter we do consider is that Amitabh Bachchan is a brand ambassador for the state of Gujarat.

The rumours were fuelled even further when the whole Bachchan household seemed to be present during a recent celebrity book launch – except Jaya herself.

Aishwarya looked stunning in a black anarkali dress and wowed all those gathered at the launch of the book – ‘My Father, Our Fraternity’ by Indian classical Sarod musician, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan.
