Recently legendary ghazal singer Jagjit Singh has given his voice to film Khushiyaan’s Punjabi ‘Shabad’. But disheartening news is that he continues to be critical in the Lilavati Hospital, where he was admitted and underwent surgery Friday, and a hospital trustee told Saturday.

Further details of his condition were not disclosed. 'We have to respect the patient's privacy,' managing trustee Niket V. Mehta told.

'Jagjit Singh's condition continues to remain critical,' Mehta said Saturday afternoon.
The 71-year-old Singh is at present in the ICU after undergoing emergency surgery for brain hemorrhage Friday evening.

Singh and maestro Ghulam Ali were scheduled to perform at a concert in Shanmukhananda Hall in central Mumbai. The performance was cancelled.
Singh has been suffering from high blood pressure since the past few years.
Known as 'Ghazal King' of India, Jagjit Singh, and his wife Chitra are considered the pioneers of modern ghazal singing in the country.

Film Khushiyaan’s director Tirlok Malik and team wish him for fast recovery.
