With movies trying to be more sensible, the depiction of affection is also getting bolder, tells actress Mahie Gill, who has done intimate scenes in her debut film 'Dev D' and also in her upcoming 'Not A Love Story' but finds them difficult and uncomfortable.
'I feel awkward doing these scenes and it's not very easy because the entire crew is there. But I feel that it's like any other emotion and one has to depict it. The kind of cinema I am doing is realistic and so this is also a part of it,' Mahie said in an interview.
Asked what goes on in her mind while doing intimate scenes, she told, 'The only thing in your mind is that you have to deliver your best. It shouldn't look artificial at all.'
After making an inspiring start with Anurag Kashyap's 'Dev D' in 2009, Mahie did the offbeat 'Gulal' and also had a small part in last year's super hit cop drama 'Dabangg'.
Next in line is the controversial 'Not A Love Story', inspired by the murder of TV executive Neeraj Grover, who was killed by ex-naval officer Jerome Mathew for allegedly having a relationship with his fiancee Maria Susairaj.
In the movie, the 27-year-old had to do love-making scenes with Deepak Dobriyal. She tells director Ram Gopal Varma sent her a 'sorry' message for making her do the shot more than once.
'I trust my director totally and I knew that he will not make it look vulgar. So I was okay with it. The only thing was that we did these scenes on the first day of the shoot... I was taken aback because I wasn't mentally prepared,' she told.
'I have known Deepak for some time, but I was meeting him after long; so it was a little weird initially,' included the actress who will also seen in 'Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster'.
She told that post-'Dev D' most of the roles that were offered to her had bedroom scenes and that's why she declined them.
'After 'Dev D', the thing was that most people, who came to me, would not tell me the story, they would just say that the movie has two kissing scenes and three bedroom scenes, but no story. So I did not do those movies. I won't do such scenes till the time I feel it is required,' she specified.
Mahie's other movies are 'Paan Singh Tomar', 'Micheal' and 'Buddha In A Traffic Jam'.
