Team of Onir’s I AM receives terror threats while shooting in Srinagar

The shoot for Onir’s I AM was not an easy one – While shooting at Habba Kadal, Srinagar the team received terror threats on the last day of the shoot after which the crew shifted to Karan Nagar with actresses Juhi Chawla and Manisha Koirala and completed the shoot there.

In fact an assistant director on the movie was hurt because of a stone thrown by a young boy.

Says a source “Shooting in Srinagar,Habba Kadal was a dangerous one… not only was an AD hurt because of a stone throw but we also received terror threats for filming there on the last day of the shoot. We then shifted to Karan Nagar with the entire crew and actresses Juhi Chawla and Manisha Koirala and continued shooting”

Later Director Onir and DOP Arvind came back to Habb Kadal and took shots of the location pretending that they were shooting a documentary.

“Since the bit was left incomplete –Onir and Arvind came back to capture some location footage .To avoid any sort of chaos they pretended to be shooting a documentary which people in the locality are used to in order to avoid any unnecessary attention” adds the source

Onir’s “I A.M “-is a tale of 4 stories woven together that takes audiences through issues and dilemmas that bruise the modern Indian society. The film unfolds many a tale of individuals struggling to find their identity, and uphold their dignity in a world that is callous, cold and unsympathetic
