Imran Khan is Punjabi Lad in 'Two States' falling in love with sensuous south Indian lass!

'2-States' the most expected movie in Bollywood after several false starts took off and will go to floors at the start of next year. The film is co produced by Sajid Nadiawala and Karan Johar. The movie is based on Chetan Bhagat's novel by the same name. Source close to the film makers disclosed "Sajid had bought the rights of the movie a couple of years back. It was to be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, with Shah Rukh Khan playing the lead. However, talks fizzled out. After that, Karan stepped in as the co-producer and Ranbir Kapoor agreed to top-line it. But Kapoor's involvement didn't work out and the project was put on the back-burner."

The film makers freshly zeroed in on Imran Khan for the lead role. Insiders tell "Imran is the new star on the block and with a slew of hits to his credit; he is as bankable as any other top star. Karan was keen to have Imran on board.

The actor takes his time to commit to any movie. But he loved the script of 2 States and gave his nod to the movie, which is expected to start early next year." 2 States is a romantic entertainer with Punjabi Lad falling in love with sensuous south Indian lass. SRK swapped by Ranbir kapoor in Two States!

Earlier Shah Rukh Khan was approached for the forthcoming film, “Two States”. The film’s storyline is based on Chetan Bhagat’s well-known novel. It will be produced by Sajid Nadiawala.But now it seems, Bollywood supports youngsters more than industry elders. Thus Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor’s son, managed to grab the role of hero instead of SRK. Not only the main hero has been changed, but also the director has been changed. Previously Vishal Bharadwaj was to direct the movie. This time we will see the duo of Nadiawala and Karan Johar for the first time, producing the movie.

It was Karan Johar who asked Sajid to produce the film along with himself. This is the second time, Karan is working with another production company, the first being SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment. Sajid Nadiawala has already bought the rights of the novel. And the script has been written by Abhishek Varman, who was Karan’s assistant during the shoot of “My Name Is Khan”, and has also directed the movie “Student Of The Year”.
