Remo D'Souza wants known actor to play lead in 'ABCD 2'!

Choreographer-filmmaker Remo D'Souza, who is all set to start "ABCD 2" shooting, wants to cast a known actor to play the lead in the sequel.

There are reports that "Student Of The Year" fame actor Varun Dhawan has been approached to play the lead in the sequel to India's first 3D dance movie "ABCD - AnyBody Can Dance".

"For the lead actor (for 'ABCD 2'), talks are still going on (with actors)... We are searching for a known actor," Remo said journalists here at an event organized by Josh Foundation for NGO kids.

"Lets see who agrees to it," he further added.

"ABCD - AnyBody Can Dance", which released last year, was a hit and featured choreographers like Prabhudheva, Ganesh Acharya and Salman Yusuff Khan.

Remo told the sequel will have the original cast and some new actors will also be roped in.

"If I talk about its cast then you will get to see Prabhudheva, Ganesh Acharya, Dharmesh, Lauren (Gottlieb) and Punit (Pathak) again in the part two. Some new actors will also be roped in. The talks are going on," told Remo.

Choreographer-turned-director Remo D'Souza, who has finished shooting his 3D movie "ABCD" (Any Body Can Dance), tells he always wanted to make a dance movie.
"This is my second film. I always wanted to make a dance film first. It didn't happen. But now it has happened thanks to UTV so I am very happy about it," D'Souza told Monday at the wrap up party of "ABCD".
The movie stars renowned directors and choreographers like Prabhu Deva and Ganesh Acharya. But even with two other directors on board, D'Souza did not have any difficulties shooting the film.
"Prabhu ji is a big director and Ganeshji has also directed a film. I thought it would be tough to direct them but it was not, because they know what a director wants," he said.
D'Souza said his experience on the sets of "ABCD" was amazing.
"The experience was very nice. It was different. The biggest choreographers and directors are there and the best part is that it's in 3D," he said.
With a renowned choreographer like Prabhu Deva, the challenge for D'Souza was to make him do something different.
"They are legends in their fields. To make him (Prabhu Deva) do something new, that was the challenge," he told.
D'Souza made his directorial debut with "FALTU" in April 2011.

Remo D'Souza wants a Hollywood actress for 3D dance film

Remo D'Souza
Filmmaker-turned-choreographer Remo D'Souza has roped in a Hollywood actress for his 3D dance movie titled 'ABCD'. However, he refuses to disclose her name.
'The actress is from Hollywood, we have kept her identity under wraps,' Remo said journalists. The choreographer was here with his 'Dance India Dance' (DID) co-judges Terence Lewis and Geeta Kapoor to announce the top 18 contestants who will take part in the third season of the show and its collaboration with Reebok for DID apparels.
'I needed a dancer who is extraordinary. When people see her, they wouldn't believe a girl can dance so well,' he included.
Asked why he didn’t take anyone from India, he told, 'In India, I could not find anyone who could match up to that level.'
While Prabhudeva plays the lead in the movie, Remo has signed on previous 'Dance India Dance' contestants Salman Khan, Dharmesh, Prince, Mayuresh and Vrushali in prominent roles.
