Well, its Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar, leading with 11 nominations, of which 7 nominations are to AR Rehman’s credit. The music maestro has been nominated for Best Music Arranger and Programmer, Best Background Score, 2 nominations for Best Playback Singer Male along with Javed Ali and Mohit Chauhan, Best Music Director, Best Film Song and Best Film Album.
A few steps behind is Shahrukh Khan starrer Ra One and Zoya Akhtar’s “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” – both bagging eight nominations each. Agneepath also received five nominations.
In the singers category, Shreya Ghoshal has been nominated for ‘Chikni Chameli’, ‘Ooh lala’, ‘Saibo’ and ‘Gun gun guna’. Actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Paani da’ from his film ‘Vicky Donor’ won him three nominations – for Best Debut Composer, Best Lyricist and Best Singer. While veteran lyricist-poet Javed Akhtar has two noms for Best Lyricist for Senorita and Khaabon ke Parinday – both from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
