Jackky Bhagnani 'struggles' to be taken sincerely!

Since making his debut in 2009 with "Kal Kissne Dekha", Jackky Bhagnani has done just a handful of films. He tells it's not because he is choosy, but because he wants to be taken seriously as an actor by the viewers.

He will next be seen in "Youngistaan".

"I have not become choosy, this is all I get! I am doing this ('Youngistaan') because I want to do all kinds of films. In my career of four years, I am struggling to make people take me seriously as an actor and give me credit for it and not just take me as being a producer's son or a dancer or cute looking," the 29-year-old told here at a press meet.

Jackky, who is filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani's son, spoke on the sidelines of an event to announce the association of "Youngistaan" with Viva Carnival Goa 2014. He was accompanied by the film's actress Neha Sharma.

In "Youngistaan", Jackyy plays a young prime minister.

Jackky hopes his movie inspires real life and young people are brought to the forefront in politics.

"Apart from just being a film, this is also what people want. For a change, I hope real life gets inspired by reel life and politicians go and watch it," Jackky told.

Directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal, "Youngistaan" also stars Boman Irani and late Farooque Sheikh. The movie releases March 28.

Sex comedies don't work for director Soumik Sen!

Filmmaker Soumik Sen, whose debut film "Gulaab Gang" is yet to release, has already developed a few scripts for his forthcoming projects, but one genre he doesn't wish to experiment with is a sex comedy.

Post "Gulaab Gang", Sen is likely to make a biopic, a comedy and a thriller, but a sex comedy is a no-no.

"I will not direct an adult comedy. That doesn't work for me. I don't have anything against such films, but I don't have anything as such in mind," Sen said.

"There is an audience for everything, but I would never want to see my name as a director of 'Grand Masti'. I have serious issues about people making rape jokes," he further added.

He believes filmmakers must be more responsible.

"Yes, I look down upon 'Grand Masti', but not on 'Delhi Belly'. I loved 'Delhi Belly'. As filmmakers, there is a line which we can draw and that's the line I will not cross," he told.

Sen's second movie will be a biopic on late magician P.C. Sorcar.

"Besides, this I am trying to develop a comedy film with a supernatural element and a thriller love story," he told.

Prabhudheva in no mood to budge from the title "Action Jackson"!

In spite of a legal notice from Hollywood studio Warner Bros. claiming copyright infringement, director Prabhudheva and his producer Gordhan Tanwani are in no mood to budge from the title "Action Jackson".

Warner Bros' 1988 Hollywood film featuring Carl Weathers and Sharon Stone released with the same name and the production house has given the makers of the Bollywood movie a notice to change the title as "Action Jackson" is registered by them for the sub-continent as well.

A letter has been sent to Baba Arts Limited Production and Eros International, who are jointly producing the movie.

On the other hand, Prabhudheva tells there is a very special reason why his movie is called "Action Jackson".

"We named the film 'Action Jackson' because our hero Ajay Devgan is known as 'AJ' and we thought it would be a good idea to use the initials and extend it into the title 'Action Jackson' as Ajay is doing both action and dancing in the film," told the director.

Prabhudheva, who also changed the title of his previous film "Rambo Rajkumar" to "R...Rajkumar", tells that he cant "keep giving in like this for every title".

"It isn't like 'Rambo Rajkumar' where Rambo was a patented name by the Hollywood studio. How can anyone claim copyright over the words 'action' and 'Jackson'? And since the word 'Jackson' is in my title for the dancing, we might have (late pop legend) Michael Jackson's family claiming copyright violation. We can't just keep giving in like this for every title," he told.

As for the title belonging to a Hollywood film, Prabhu defends his title.

"I had never heard of a Hollywood film titled 'Action Jackson'. Didn't it come 25 years ago? So many films are titled 'Romeo & Juliet'. Should Shakespeare's family sue?"

No one is a threat, enough room for everybody, says Parineeti Chopra!

Busy as a bee, Parineeti Chopra has a lot on her plate and tells she is enjoying her work and doesn't feel threatened by her colleagues.

"This is my fourth year in the industry. And I'm doing the work that I am really enjoying," told the actress who is rubbing shoulders with the likes of Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha.

With seven movies to her credit, Parineeti tells she is far more alert and nervous.

"Initially, I had nothing to lose. But with every passing film there are more expectations to live up to... There is a checklist of directors and actors you want to work with. The dreams expand and so do the anxieties. I want to be known for being versatile. So I'll search now for the roles that take me to another level."

The spirited scene-stealer tells she doesn't see any of her contemporaries as rivals.

"I don't really feel anyone is a threat. There is enough room for everybody. That's how I feel right now. Maybe two years down the line, I'll start peering anxiously over my shoulder. But at the moment I'm happy to be just doing the work that I am," told the actress who debuted with "Ladies Vs Ricky Behl".

Parineeti has no regrets about opting out of Shoojit Sircar's next movie "Piku", in which she was to play Amitabh Bachchan's daughter.

"The dates clashed with another film. I was so looking forward to it because it gave me a chance to work with two of the finest actors we have - Bachchan saab and Irrfan," she told and further added, "Maybe it was too early for me to work with these stalwarts. I'd have probably forgotten my lines and just stared at them."

As for losing out on the chance of doing a father-daughter film with the Big B, Parineeti told, "I have a very strong father-daughter bonding with Anupam Kher sir in 'Daawat-e-Ishq'. As for Bachchan saab, I'm sure I'll have other opportunities to work with him."

"The audiences saw a new me in 'Hasee Toh Phasee'. Now they'll see me in an entirely new avatar in Shaad Ali's 'Kill Dill'.

"I've lots on my plate. Till the release of 'Hasee Toh Phasee', I was shooting two films, dubbing and promoting. There was no time for myself. And I can't complain. Good scripts are coming my way. Obviously I can't say yes to every film and endorsement that comes my way."

About losing out on the popular awards this year, the pragmatic Parineeti told, "Deepika Padukone deserved them. It would have been odd if I or anyone else got them. But I was nominated. And I was very happy."

Having worked with Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Siddharth Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapoor, Parineeti tells she's close to all of them.

"But there is a special bonding with Arjun. We spent three months shooting together in Lucknow. Now I've spent a lot of time shooting with Aditya in Hyderabad. So these two are my favourites," told the actress.

Grateful to younger actors who copy my style, says Govinda!

Ranveer Singh is an unabashed fan of senior actor Govinda and he has often copied his style for songs and performances. Govinda tells he is grateful to such young talents who feel his inimitable dancing style is worth being imitated.

Ranveer is getting a chance to match steps with Govinda in Shaad Ali's "Kill Dil".

In fact, Ranveer even paid a tribute to Govinda's dancing skills in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela", as well as at an awards function.

Showering praise on the younger talent, Govinda told, "Yes, I saw Ranveer in the song 'Ishqyaun dhishqyaun' in '...Ram-Leela'. He was in full form. I am grateful to the younger actors who think my style is worthy of being copied."

The duo is said to be sharing a great bonding on the set of the Shaad Ali movie.

"Shaad now plans to incorporate a full-on Govinda-Ranveer dance number where the fan will try to match steps with his idol," told a source associated with "Kill Dill".

Meanwhile, Govinda has lately lost a lot of weight to look convincing as Ranbir Kapoor's father in Anurag Basu's "Jagga Jasoos".

The resourceful actor is thrilled about his first villain's role in "Kill Dil".

"It's my first full-fledged negative role. I had played a negative part in N. Chandra's 'Shikari' years ago. Times have now changed. Back then there was a past history for my character's dark deeds. Now in 'Kill Dil', my character is the way he is because he chooses to be."

Was moved by 'Hawaa Hawaai' script, reveals Saqib Saleem!

Actor Saqib Saleem, who will soon be seen in Amole Gupte's directorial project "Hawaa Hawaai", tells he was totally moved by the film's story, which is full of emotions and depth.

"I have never read such a script full of emotions...real emotions. Really, I was moved by the script of 'Hawaa Hawaai'," Saqib told here Sunday, during the shoot of a music video for the film.

"I felt 'this is the story I want to be a part of anyhow'. I thought as an actor it will be a huge challenge for me," he further added.

The 25-year-old, who plays a young skating coach in the movie, told that as an actor, he found the depth and turmoil of his character in the film very challenging.

"So far whatever characters I have played in my earlier films, including in 'Bombay Talkies', they have been urban, cool but this character (in 'Hawaa Hawaai') for me has a lot of depth," told Saqib, who has been part of films like "Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge", "Mere Dad Ki Maruti" and "Bombay Talkies".

"Hawaa Hawaai", which hits theatres April 18, also stars Gupte's son Partho.

For Ajay Devgn, there's no escaping dance in 'Action Jackson'!

Actor-producer Ajay Devgn, who shies away from dancing, tells he couldn't escape "Action Jackson" director Prabhudheva, who made him shake a leg in two songs.

"Prabhu made me work really hard for the film. He made me dance, which I generally run away from," Ajay said.

"I have shot for two songs. We have total five songs in the film and the rest are yet to be shot and I don't know how am I going to do them," further added the 44-year-old.

In the film, Ajay has teamed up with Sonakshi Sinha.

But, when asked about his role in "Action Jackson", he refused to divulge details.

He told, "It's too early to talk about it".

He told, "I have no idea about that issue. I have read it in the newspaper and I only have that much information. I think they are working on the legalities. I don't know what is the status."

Warner Bros' 1988 Hollywood film featuring Carl Weathers and Sharon Stone released with the same name and the production house gave the makers of the Bollywood version a 48-hour notice to change the title as "Action Jackson" is registered by them for the sub-continent as well.

Gordan Tanwani, the film's co-producer, had told he will not buckle under pressure.

Being helmed by first-time director Amit Sharma, "Tevar" is being produced by Boney and features Arjun and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.

"Obviously the bond becomes stronger when you work together. It also becomes professional as we have our own opinions," Arjun said journalists in a group interview.

"I am getting time to spend with him now because I am an actor. He is my father and I love him," further added the 28-year-old who plays a kabaddi player in the movie.

Arjun, who debuted with hit movie "Ishaqzaade" and then featured in "Aurangzeb", tells his father has learned a lot about him while working with him.

"For eight days I did it and we had fun. He didn't know that I carry my food all the time and he discovered that for the first time. He has never been on the sets to see me. I have seen his work for the last 20 years, but he has never seen me working," he told.

"Last day, I gave a shot and that's the first time when my father came and gave me a compliment. He said, 'good shot' and that meant a world to me. It means a lot to me. This is something that underlines or defines my existence. So, the equation will never change, it will only get better and better."

The young actor, who has moved out of the family home, tells staying apart from his dad doesn't affect his relationship.

Boney is now wedded to actress Sridevi and they have two daughters.

In the meantime, Arjun is gearing up for his third release "Gunday", which is coming out Friday.

I've not gone under the knife, says Anushka Sharma!

Actress Anushka Sharma, who is being talked about for her fuller lips, denies going under the knife for the new look. She attributes her changed looks to a temporary lip enhancing tool for her role in the forthcoming film "Bombay Velvet".

The rumor started after Anushka, who made her Bollywood debut with "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi", appeared on "Koffee With Karan".

The 25-year-old took to micro logging website Twitter to deny news of having undergone cosmetic surgery.

"...Lately there has been a lot of talk about me in this particular episode of 'Koffee with Karan'. Mainly regarding my lips. I am here to just convey what I have to say regarding the same. I am talking about it only because this story has taken a scary direction and things have been 'blown out of proportion' (pun intended)," Anushka posted Monday night.

"For a short while now, I have been using a temporary lip enhancing tool and that along with make-up techniques (I have learnt over the years) is the reason why there might be a change in the appearance of my lips.

"...Let me assure everyone that I have by no means gone 'under the knife' or done any kind of 'plastic surgery' or undergone any intrusive procedure. This was my decision and was done for the sake of my look in my upcoming film 'Bombay Velvet', a period drama where I play a jazz singer in the 1960s-1970s. And it was taken from the referencing of that time," she further added.

The "Band Baaja Baaraat" star further told that her changed looks on the show "is due to lot of factors put together" and not just her lips, and she doesn't think that she was at her best in terms of her looks.

She told that she is setting the record straight once and for all.

"To put the current conjecture and reportage straight once and for all - I do not believe in plastic surgery or any other means of unnatural permanent changes to the body. I do not support it or stand for it or recommend it," she wrote.

The actress gets support from her contemporaries Sonam Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

Sonam posted, "Kudos to Anushka Sharma for addressing unfair criticism head on... have always admired her as an actor and now I definitely admire her as a person."

Alia wrote, "Way to go Anushka Sharma. People are dealing with a strong girl here so say what you want... nothing is bringing her down."

Karan Johar, host of "Koffee With Karan", also praised her.

"Anushka Sharma is a powerhouse of talent and the downside of social media cannot and will not take away the core of her creative existence," he posted.

"I think this song was inspired from me only because I am a very big Drama queen. People take it from a negative way but I personally take it in a positive way. They are people who show their emotions, say anything and are very loud and happy. So in that sense its drama because I am not showing anything, so yes I am a drama queen," the 25-year-old actress told.
