Ranbir doesn’t want to act with ex-girlfriend Katrina in Raajneeti 2!

Katrina Kaif has been confirmed to play the lead role in Raajneeti 2. The actress is told to be the hero in the movie. Ranbir Kapoor, who was a part of Raajneeti, will not be seen in the movie this time.

A super hit 2010, Prakash Jha movie, the filmmaker tells, “It is very challenging to take the Raajneeti story forward. Most of the main characters are dead. Two-thirds of the characters will be completely new. Katrina (Kaif) will have an essential role.”

However, the Ranbir-Katrina chemistry will be missing in the second part. The movie is said to take a complete spin on the Mahabharat this time.

Reason why Ranbir is not a part of the sequel is because he doesn’t want to be sidelined by his so-called ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Riteish Deshmukh wants to do drama and crime thrillers now!

Riteish Deshmukh, who has an outstanding timing for comedy and who has been seen in comedy films mostly, now says that he need to move on to the next level and that’s crime thrillers.

The actor will soon be seen in the sequel to Masti, opposite the original cast Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani and will soon go on the floors. He says, it’s high time he stops doing sequels and concentrate on dramas and thrillers.

“My next film will be ‘Masti 2′. I will start shooting in the first week of August,” Riteish Deshmukh told.

“It is myself, Aftab and Vivek in the film. It’s my fourth film with Indra Kumar I feel like I am married to him,” Riteish, told.

“This is my third sequel and then the fourth one will come, then I will stop doing sequels because all the comedies that I am doing are sequels – Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (a sequel to ‘Kyaa Kool Hai Hum’) and ‘Masti 2′. I have not done a new comedy.”

“In fact, in my case, it has been the other way round. ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’ happened and it was a rom com where Genelia (D’Souza) is more aggressive character. Thankfully, it worked.”

“Obviously these series of films that I am doing are sequels, they are brands and they are bound to be comedy. After these films things have changed because people’s perception has changed so now I am looking forward to do one drama and one crime thriller.”

Riteish’s next film is “Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum”.

Anushka Sharma feels lonely nowadays!

Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma are presently in London, shooting for Yash Chopra’s next.

However, Anushka Sharma is feeling alone once the shoot is done for the day. Reason: Katrina Kaif’s family resides in London, while SRK on the other hand is with his family in London till mid-July.

Once the cast is done for the day, both SRK and Katrina are with their respective families while Anushka is all alone on the streets, busy shopping.

If what we’ve heard is true, Anushka has spent time with SRK’s family, twice. Also, Karan Johar who was in London till a few days back was seen hanging out with Anushka.

Salman pleads for free Sarabjit Singh from Pakistan!

Requesting the people of Pakistan to support him in efforts to free Sarabjit Singh, Bollywood star Salman Khan is doing his best to get an optimistic result.

Well, Sarabjit Singh is an Indian who has been held in the Pakistan prison since the past 30 years.

“Requesting the people of Pakistan to support me to help free Sarabjit, who has been in prison since 30 yrs. Please? Allah ka vasta (for god’s sake),” Salman Khan posted.

“Request the awam (people) of Pakistan, members of the press, Govt of Pakistan, President (Asif Ali Zardari) Zardari, a humble request. It would be the most amazing gesture to send Sarabjit back to his family after 30 years. Hope you support me like it’s your own cause,” he further added.

Salman further posted, “I saw a picture of Sarabjit’s sister, it killed me. Felt real sad for her. Help me, help her.”

It was told that the reason Shahid never wanted to work with Sonakshi was because she looked older than him and that he always prefers working with young looking actresses.

In a fresh interview, Shahid Kapoor rubbished all such rumors and said such things disturb him.

And you know what Shahid does when his movies fair poor at the box office??? Well, the actor is no less than a kid. He finds things to throw around.

The actor also disclosed that he is very keen on doing an out-and-out action film, and he couldn’t gat any luckier when he was signed by director Prabhu Deva for a movie on the lines of action.

The movie has Salman go on a secret mission across the world, where he plays the role of a RAW agent. Katrina on the other hand is a student. The movie has been shot in Ireland, Cuba, Turkey, Thailand and India.

Directed by Kabir Khan, Ek Tha Tiger is slated to release on August 15.

Though Saif and Kareena are tight lipped about their marriage plans, mommy Sharmila Tagore sounds quite thrilled and is busy spilling the beans.

If news is true, Saif and Kareena are all set to tie the knot on October 16 this year. It is heard that Kareena will be dressed in sharara that Saif’s mom wore on her marriage. And Bebo is quite happy to continue the tradition of the royal Pataudi family.

Buzz had it that the sharara will be given a modern look. However Sharmila Tagore has now confirmed that no changes will be made to the dress.

Big B recommends the Gangs of Wasseypur for cinema goers!

Amitabh Bachchan was super awed by Gangs of Wasseypur which released last Friday. Ever since the actor watched the movie, his blog has been flooding with its reviews and strongly recommends the film to each and everyone.

On Friday, the film ran houseful in most parts.

“Quite undoubtedly the moment of the day has been the film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ (GOW), which I have had the great privilege to see. Indian Cinema at its best, honest, stark and as painfully real as possible. For one that has been born and lived a major portion of his life in almost similar environment, or at least exposed to it to some degree, I found so much that I could well relate to. And that has led to the authenticity…,” Big B posted on his blog.

“Anurag Kashyap has not done any fancy shot taking and allowed the visuals to flow as they would, were one to be living those circumstances in real time,” he posted.

The movie has stellar performances by Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Richa Chadha and Piyush Mishra.

Praising Manoj Bajpayee, the 69-year-old posted, “Manoj Bajpayee in particular, and of all the artists right down to the smallest in capacity and presence, has been beautifully done. No one looked or performed out of place. They just did enough and that was effective enough.”

“Importantly though, the film GOW touched and expanded on a topic that apart from the blood and gore and the violence educated us on a social issue which most of us may never have heard of. The disparities yes, on more social and moral levels, but also on a factor that concerns religion and the evil that exists within most of the polity even now about it. In all a glorious film and one that I would recommend strongly,” he wrote.

From her cousin Abhay Deol to friends Sohail Khan and Genelia D'Souza - actress Esha Deol and her fiance Bharat Takhtani's sangeet ceremony saw a lot of Bollywood celebrities and the couple could not stop gushing about each other.

"I am madly love with him, I can't take my eyes off him," Esha told about her fiance Bharat, a businessman.

Pouring his heart out, Bharat called Esha his "princess for life," and added that that he is "looking forward to having my best life and my most wonderful life with my partner."

A beaming Esha was dressed in an orange-red heavily embroidered lehenga-choli by designer Rokcy S, while her beau flaunted a royal-blue embroidered sherwani.

A trained dancer, Esha managed to get Bharat to dance at the retro-themed sangeet ceremony.

"I love dancing and I managed to get Bharat to dance and he also finally agreed to dance," told Esha.

In the meantime, guests from B-Town wished the couple all the best.

Abhay, who came with his girlfriend Preeti Desai, told, "I wish they live happily together and obviously it's a momentous occasion. I am very excited and happy for them."

Filmmaker-actor Sohail Khan, who is a friend of Bharat, told that he knows Bharat since years. "He is a Bandra boy and Esha has been a family friend. I just wish them all the best and they are a lovely couple."

Newly married couples Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia feel that marriage will mark an exciting new chapter in Esha-Bharat's relationship.

"I just wish them a happy married life. I am extremely happy for Esha that she found her true love and wish them both a happy married life," Riteish told.

Genelia said, "Yeah, we wish them all the best for their new life together and I am sure it's going to be an exciting new chapter in their life."

Esha's mehendi ceremony will be on June 28 followed by the traditional wedding in a temple June 29 and a reception the next day.

The international model-turned-actress who bagged three movies in less than a year, has now signed on her fourth project with music industry giant Super Cassettes (T-Series) to play a parallel lead in their upcoming production.

Tentatively titled 'Class Of 2013' the movie will be the directorial debut of young gun Bhushan Kumar's wife Divya (Khosla) Kumar.

It can be noted here that Evelyn is already a part of movies like Manish Tiwary's ' Issaq' opposite Prateik Babbar and veteran filmmaker Pramod Chakravorty's grandson Prateek Chakravorty's debut movie 'From Sydney With Love'.

Newly, she also made news when she was signed up for a key role in Ayan Mukerji's ' Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani', the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer under Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions.

"When I came down from far-end Germany, I had never anticipated that I would get such a warm welcome from Bollywood," tells Evelyn. "It’s a privilege to be signed up by such reputed banners even before my first release," adds the newbie.

In the meantime, Divya Kumar has asked Evelyn to tone up her body as she is to wear a lot of bikinis in the film. "I'm doing lots of Pilates and am on a very strict healthy diet," reveals the actress who will play "a hot but angel-like" dream girl in the film.

Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit and former beauty queen and actress Sushmita Sen were honoured for individual excellence in the field of acting and entrepreneurship respectively.

While Sushmita was honoured with woman entrepreneur award for successfully running her organisation --I AM SHE, Madhuri was conferred with platinum diva award, at Planman Media's Powerbrands Hall of Fame awards held at Kingdom of Dreams.

"I am very proud and honoured after receiving the award. It reiterates the fact that people still look at me with integrity. I have come here with a lot of hard work," told Madhuri, who was accompanied by husband Sriram Nene, after receiving the award.

While thanking for the honour, Sushmita told: "It has been a journey for me. I won Miss Universe in 1994, got to do my first film 'Dastak' in 1996 and now I receive this woman entrepreneur award for I AM SHE, which I opened two years ago."

Sen said she opened it with the idea of making "our Indian beauties capable enough to win international titles. All you people have been a source of great strength".

Actors Parineeti Chopra and Prateik also received the awards for rising star female and rising star male respectively.

"Just a year ago I was not even planning to become an actress. I was working in corporate industry. I always thought of becoming a banker. But I think destiny has its own role to play," told Parineeti who is enjoying new found fame after the success of "Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl" and "Ishaqzaade".

"It feels really good that I have been getting so many awards. I promise to keep working harder and I hope to keep everybody happy," she added.

Prateik, who has movies like "Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na", "My Friend Pinto" and "Aarakshan" to his credit, dedicated his trophy to the people he has worked with so far.

"This is really encouraging. I would like to dedicate this to all the people who I have worked in all my films," he said.

Theatre veteran Tom Alter was given an award for exemplary contribution to Indian theatre while recently crowned Miss Asia Pacific Himagini Singh Yadu was honoured with the title of inspirational youth icon.

Celebrity chef Vikas Khanna was given an award in the category, India Ki Shaan- culinary. People from various corporate and marketing fields were also honoured at the awards ceremony.

The event saw the unveiling of Planman's second edition of "Powerbrands", a research-driven book, which talks about 100 most powerful brands of India.
